What if you won every state? You can "what if" all day long. Fact is that Hillary will not be able to carry 49 states. I think Reagan carried every state but Minnesota in '84.

Of course, if the vast majority votes for Hillary she wont be polarizing, but that will not be the case. At best she carries 55% of the vote.
obama won more of the popular vote in 2008 and 2012 then reagan did in 1980.

but please, everyone go on ignoring how republican policies became suddenly unpopular with republicans once obama put his support behind them.

Yes Buck, but Reagan was facing the public untrust generated by the Nixon "regime" and it's deceptive policies...does Watergate ring a bell?

Hell, Watergate was the ONLY reason Carter was elected in the first place...

Maybe it was 90% of the electoral college vote...what does it really matter? He only lost ONE state...
if you want to go by the electoral college vote, then obama won his first election by 68% to 32%, and got reelected by a margin of 62% to 38%, thereby making him not polarizing according to your very definition of it.

goddamn you are stupid.

Paul/Duke 2016
Hillary would be just about the worst thing that could happen
Palin would be acceptable but not great a bit scary if she gets elected but would be better than what we have now

they sure can be stupid if they say stupid things.

stupid things like "i believe reagan won his second term by 90% or better".

if you say stupid things like that, you are stupid. plain and simple, cut and dry.

i'm so sorry that you are demonstrably stupid.

Well Buck, my wife and son would both probably agree with you that I'm stupid...

But I must wonder...how stupid you must be to have put in all the work of ALMOST getting a good college degree, and then dropping out just a few credits short of graduating?...and refusing to go back and finish your degree, even though your in-laws, and even ME (last year) offered to PAY FOR YOUR CLASSES TO FINISH YOUR DEGREE!!!

All that work and no degree? You MUST feel like a failure...I feel sorry for you...

Reagan did not have an opposing party whose primary purpose was to destroy his presidency, this is something that presidents of both parties have to deal with today. To be fair, I think Republicans started this with their impeachment of Clinton, however, it was legal, and an impeachable offense. However, since he was only lying about sex, it wasn't seen as a major offense by most Americans. The Democrats took it further with their crusade against Bush, and now its the Republicans at it again against Obama.

The media has also changed since Reagan, no longer do they strive to be objective, they are almost as partisan as the members of congress.

Our political system is fucked. I do not know how it can be unfucked.

I think it's wrong to say that it's them and their fault. It's us, the people.

This may be the most unbiased, truthful post in this entire thread...thank you sir for bringing reason to a thread hijacked by Buck's absurd rantings...

And now I must say good nite...I have to be at work tomorrow morning...unlike Buck!!!

It is, and yet, it isn't. Do either parties candidates do what they say they are going to do? Not usually.

We still have some accountability. However, there is a lot of obstruction. The media is out there getting the partisans so fired up, yet mis or illinformed about the issues and what is actually occuring that it is difficult for the average American to know his ass from a hole in the ground with respect to what is actually going on in Washington.

The politicians lie, the media distracts, and we do not care. All are to blame.

i don't feel stupid at all, nor like a failure. i'm very happy with where life has taken me, and i have a great life that many people would love to enjoy.

i never punch a clock, always have tons of weed around, and work as much as i want to.

no stupid piece of paper is gonna give me that kind of personal happiness.
