instead of circling the pot with the branch grow them out over the side of the pot.

Your trying to trick the plant into thinking the apical tips are no longer able to be apical tips. So if the plant cant find an easy way to make that tip go back towards the light, the level of auxins will shift and the lower sites will stretch and try to become the new apical tip. So as long as you can tie her down/get her tip down to something outside the pot, should be fine. (I think, idk I mostly make stuff up as I go 
)

Yeah, just use weights or something if you don't have anything to tie to.

no, it will just pop right up the way it was unless you do injury to the stem

I use those twistie ties from trash bags to tie em down. That way I can re adjust them as they grow.

lool there is no such thing as too long.... the longer in veg the bigger the plant will become ....it all come down to space...

A veg can be to long it can cause little buds and not very dense, a three month veg is trying to hard. 4 to eight weeks seem ideal.
