What would YOU do? My second attempt

clt.jpg So this is my second attempt growing, what would you do? Top it? Leave it as is? Im hoping to get 4 oz per plant, one is obviously older than the other two.

Also do they look relatively happy, healthy? All damage you see on the leaves is from the kitten thinking its a playtoy, that issue is solved now tho

i would top them and turn it into something that i would grow, heres some pics of what i can do with topping. It realy does do wonders, stops you getting the x-mas tree affect, and therefor the light will have to be further away from the lower bud sites, eventually turning it into popcorn, with a massive cola, but still alot of popcorn. btw that big one with many tops, that wasnt even a 4 oz plant so you are getting way ahead of yourself there :)

They look good to me. I would keep doing what your doing, leave em be for another month or so, and let em get a foot or two taller before topping.

Well I got 2.5 from one plant that only had 4 main sites, and that plant wasnt vegged for nearly long enough, it was definitely still pretty juvenile when I started flowering. Is 4 oz per plant a hard task?

depends on your lighting, one of the most important factors about the grow, lighting limits how much you can grow, what kind of light are you using?

If you veg for a long time you can get that kinda weight but don't be expecting it off of a standard sized Indica.

In a 5- 7 gallon container with a couple months veg time and a couple pinches here and there, its very possible. Ive never tried to be honest, but i can get a small oz or so per 1 gal container of coco, so it may not be too difficult depending on the strain and setup.

I was just looking at his space, it doesnt look like he has much to work with space wise, so 4 oz per plant will be hard, since he wont even be able to fit all them plants in if he gives them a 60 day veg.

I agree. it would be wise to do many smaller plants in there or take just one plant in a big container
and go for it.

I would fill the pot`s, your only use half the space and the smallest part of the pot actually

root`s are so important, with out a hugh healthy root net you wont grow anything near a 4oz plant, and weed have as much roots as it have grow above the soil, or said in another way, the size of the root net decide the size/limit of your plant, when you do your next repot make sure to fill em up, don't barrie more then a inch of the steam, old top soil layer must also be close the be the new top soil layer, and use a good amount of perlite or coco in the mix for draining, clay pellets can also be used, weed like airy and light soil for oxygen, don't like to stand in wet compact soil all the time

if you want a 4oz plant out of them, you need, like most already said, a long veg time, and with a longer veg time you need a bigger pot, much bigger (I use 5 or 7 gallon as my final pot`s depending on how much veg time/size and I usually veg em to maturity = atleast 5-6 week`s and that is plus the 2-3 week`s as seedling =7-9 week`s from seed, that give me 2-3 oz plants but its also indica`s that finish in 7-8 week`s a Sativa plant that flower for 12-14 week`s can easily yield them 4oz if you do your part)

Ooh yea, and when you water, water so all the medium get wet/moist and you see some run off, then wait until pots feel light to lift agin until your next watering

I got about half an ounce (dried) off my last plant that looks close to yours. you should get around an ounce or so.

Keep the humidity up too and that will help the transpiration process along and give you plumper tops.

lol yea well it was what I had to work with, and did nice enough, had some plants I veg under T5HOs with a lot of LST so needed sumthing to spread out the shoots in the stretch and support em later in flowering, did the job

after removing the net and most leaves on the smallest plant:

sorry for "hijacking" your thread with pics

Okay thanks heaps for the info, I guess I'll just aim for 2.5 / plant or so as that seemed to happen naturally last time and I wasnt experienced, I know my space is limited, Im trying to fight rectangle trays so 2 pots can fit on one tray to maximise space but im having trouble. im using a 400w HPS. I think ill try to setup a scrog mesh, that looks very effective. Maybe next time one single large container and use the whole space in the tent.

That's a more realistic number.

Heavy weight harvests are all about light (wattage), strain, and gardening skills (see Slipon LED grow above).

Don't forget, it's not just about weight, it's about quality.

I 'd rather have less primo bud than a ton of crappy smoke.

A scrog net is anything you have on hand. Poultry fencing actually works really good, along with just about any other light fencing. I picked up some caution fencing that they use at construction sites, and took a razor blade and took out all the middle I didn't want. It works great, and the light reflected is just right being orange. LOL Cut it out when you're done and throw it in the recycling. Peace out.
