Baywatcher's Basement Blowout

Yeah. I've got all the pics, but there's no way (even if I wanted to take the time) to edit all the old messages with the new links. It's somewhat demoralizing, I worked a lot on those pics.

Woot! Pics are back. I'm going to give some serious thought about where I host going forward. I haven't taken pics since the whole thing went bang, and am leaving for the 4th later today, but new pics first thing Monday or Tuesday.

Recap of last 2 weeks:
Hash Passion harvested. Huge disappointment. As it turns out, Frenchy is right, it's hard to make good hash out of pure bud. I ended up doing 6 runs in the washing machine (three each on two batches). I got about 7 grams of hash out of 18 ounces of wet trim. There were still trichomes left on the source material each time, so I turned the leftovers into a batch of butter and made Ginger Snaps, which are good. The few buds I saved to smoke have now cured to the point where it doesn't smell like Mexican outdoor anymore, but it's still not something I'll grow again.

LSD:
The LSDs in general seem to be having a hard time with the supersoil being too hot. All 5 in flowering are showing various stages of burn. I've already culled two LSD plants out of veg who were beginning to show it as well (they were the first two to show burn originally in the flowering room as well, #3 and #5). There's still one left in the flower room that is showed mild signs, and now has started to gently fade as harvest approaches -- this will be the one I keep of the strain I think.

Pineapple Express:
I've got one of the five PE that looks absolutely fantastic 5 weeks in. They all look good, but #5 is going to be great if it finishes like it started.

Critical Jack:
Ditto -- all are looking good, one in particular looks fantastic (#1).

Headband & Fire:
Too stringy and sativa-y for my tastes, I won't be continuing.

Sweet, good to see you back, sucks about the hash. I stick to the dry ice method. Never fails. Cant wait to see the awsome garden, keep up the good work ;)

Ooooooh... You're killing me with anticipation! :bigjoint: I have wondered myself too though... How is hosting anonymous images a worthwhile business???

They don't serve up ads though. My main theory is that they have a network of porn sites, and use the free image hosting to get content for it :)

So here we go. Woke up at 5 AM this morning and spent four hours working in the garden. I swapped out a second 1K HPS for the SolarStorm in the flower chamber -- I need the bigger footprint. I'll re-hang the SolarStorm this weekend to the right of the HPSs, I still have space (numbers-wise) for 4 more flowering plants. I've got the veg chamber back down to reasonable numbers, and am trying to just replace as I harvest.

The closeup is of the Pineapple Express pheno that (assuming the potency/smoke is decent) I plan to keep. This is after 5 weeks of flowering.

The first two LSD plants are hanging in a drying closet. They were the nute-burned 7-headed plants, I'll be surprised if I break much more than an oz each with them.

Looks great man, glad to see them again.

So how do you like the parabolic reflectors vs an air cooled? I've considered trying them but have always needed the added cooling in my rooms. Eventually my goal is to have a sealed room so I can control it completely, and run CO2.

My basement is treated as a sealed room. The minisplit keeps everything in the high 60s/low 70s. I *am* going to have to figure out a CO2 solution though, a tank is lasting about a week right now because it's doing both the veg and flower rooms.

Stolen back from TC's thread, where it was accidentally posted :)

This past weekend was the night of long knives. I've now got enough information on the various phenos to do a serious cull in my plants. For starters, all the LSD are now gone except for the one in the lower left corner, which will be harvested next weekend. I've also eliminated one of the Pineapple Express phenos, and two of the Blackberry phenos. Both the Fire OG and Headband 707 are going to be done as well once I've harvested the ones in flower -- it's simply too sativa-esque for my grow style. My caregiver is going to keep it going, so I will at least be able to trade some finished product with him if I get a hankering for it. Here's the flower chamber.

Spent today mixing up a new batch of supersoil, and giving the basement a good cleaning. We're hitting the road until Sunday night, I'm soaking everything well.

Including my back. I forget how much fun mixing soil is.

Baywatcher you remind me of the guy who got me into growing in the first place. You talk and grow just like him. Plus rep due to the Alton Brown comment. Your a wise man sensei. Please keep it comin. I love your garden. thinking i might just have to take a leaf out of your book and test out a couple plants using the mainline strategy.

Cann, thanks for dropping in! Alton is indeed the man.

Ninj, thus far the only time I've used nutes is some organic Bio Grow on a couple of the two gallon pots that I had to keep in two gallons past 6 weeks to get the spacing right. No nutes have been needed in flower, just supersoil.

Well, calmag+ in the RO water, if that counts.
