has your cat attacked your plants?

So, I'm seeing a strange correlation (based off of a lot of pictures/threads I've seen) between not only growers being cat owners, but also having cats attack their plants. So I figured I'd ask how many people here have ever had it happen.

I, personally, have a few kitties myself. Love the little shits but if my kitten gets to my plants one more time its all out warfare.

I had 1 chill-ass cat that used to love to sit in the grow room and bask in the light! Occasionally would sniff a plant, but would usually leave em alone. She was the garden guard cat!

My kitten tore down 2 seedlings about a week ago. Mostly to play with the dirt though.
He was covered in soil, in return I cut off his balls.

Yeah sunni, they get them quick. They kept getting at mine while I was trying to build a barrier, driving me crazy.

And yeah man I don't know what it is about the light but they love it its like a little mini sun mine love to sit in there. The older ones leave them alone for the most part but my three kittens go balls crazy on them every chance they get. They just love romping around under that light, and I have a vert style setup with no hood in an open closet so they have plenty of light to bask in.

I just have to figure out a way to keep them from climbing, the door being open in that room is kind of important for my ventilation.

Maybe they think its cat nip lol.

I actually have a dog who attacked once. He is hunting reptilia and small animals.

He does so out back and when he sees the garden he thinks he is outside and goes into predator mode. small fluff ball shi tzu

Other dog just sleeps on the cool floor and basks in the sun (1000w mh)

regardless i try to keep them both away, idk bout you but i dont like pullin fido's hair out the middle of a bud lol

Not gonna lie, I thought this thread was going to be dead, lol. I mean I knew you guys were out there.

I just didn't know how many of you would admit it ;). Seriously tho it does suck man my Bubba kush looks like all hell BC of a five week old kitten its rediculous. At least its mainly its first fan leaves so it should grow plenty more.

That quote had me falling out of my chair laughing! Apparently, revenge is a dish best served ... with Fiskars pruning tool (in the hands of a vet)!

our cat will have a clean litter box and go shit in a plant. i fixed her, i cut window screen and placed it on top of the soil and tucked it in. that was the ol lady's house plants, had learned my lesson so she never got near my plants.

My boy, his name is Scooter; just seems to like the whole grow thing. I have had a room going since before his birth so it is not new to him. He has never damaged any but he fucking loves to be in there. He even chases flies through the plants on occasion without doing damage..no lie.

Hah, yeah that's funny about shitting in the dirt. That one hasn't happened to me, But I do have a little one that crawls into my buckets of fox farms (without plants) and pees in it.

Another weird thing-- im using the roots organics nutrient line. When I bought the master pack and started using the supplements, I started small and wasn't even adding the grow formula (at least I didn't the first feed after I bought the rest of the pack). Anyways, I mixed some nutes, and I could not keep my cats away, and from drinking it. I need to call the 1-800 number BC I'm sure that they won't hurt them, but I cover the water just to be sure BC they love that shit. Hell, maybe Its good for them. I mean after all, they are nutrients, lol.

My cat loves to eat leaves. She mostly leaves the grow alone except for basking in the light when I leave the door open. I've given up on keeping cat hair out of the grow. There's a lot of air movement and I have a furry long haired cat and sticky plants. Hair is inevitable.

I actually think this is really common, and whomever said about it being like catnip to them is right. If i put down a bag my cats are all over it just like it was a bag of nip. My grow room is locked though, so no worries there.

Grow some catnip for them in a different room with it's own light.
