Hey guys, my question is, do i need nutrients to start seedlings? I also plan on using r.o. Water, my local l store suggested half tap and half r.o.? Any help would be appreciated.

I typically mix ProMix with worm castings ... 3 portions of pro-mix per 1 portion of worm castings.

The castings should give them what they need. Maybe a little super thrive until nutes start.

Worm casting only here... and some super thrive. Half nute dose 2-3 weeks post propagation and then full strength from there on while in veg.

thanks guys, the amount of nutrients on the market is mind blowing...and some very expensive, i was recommended Advanced nuts, it seems to have folks that love it or hate it.

For seed starting I like to add extra vermiculite to the ProMix.
I like to use 16 to 20 oz white styrofoam cups.
I place the seeds into about 1/4 inch deep holes in the mix. Cover gently and water very carefully, as to not dislodge the seed.
After the seeds pop up out of the ProMix, I wait until they need their first watering and begin with nutes at that time. 1/4 tsp per gallon of water (Jack's Classic all purpose).
I increase the nutes as the plants show me what they need while growing up to be big and strong.
