damn thats hot ...........problem in England when its hot like this , there is absolutely no air , i have all my windows open and the doors yet not even the slightest breeze is coming in , we have no air conditioning , because we only get weather like this every so often so it wouldnt be practical or affordable to install it , most of the time its windy and rainy here . oh well soon be christmas lol

LOL we call them fans here in the Mojave. Pretty cheap, move lotsa air..... Sit a nice bowl of salted ice in front of them and wet down your shirt.

Shut down your lights when the canopy goes over 105, trust me on that number.

I'm not sympathizing mate coz at least it drops to normal 16-18c temps at night. Here in Barca it's only 2-5C less at night.

im not joking ..... i know you guys abroad have higher temps , but its hard to explain how claustrophobic it is in Britain when its like this , Ive been on holiday to Florida , canary islands, Spain , south of France south Africa , Barbados etc and all those holidays the mercury says it is hotter than it is here right now , but , there is NO AIR , when im abroad on holidays its scorching hot, but i can actually breath , here at home i swear to god its like sitting in a green house with the windows shut .i have two fans blowing on my naked body but all they are doing is blowing warm air , im going for a drive in my car soon coz its the only air conditioning available to me (even though i need a re- gassing ) ...........i swear right now i would rather it be the middle of december than like this , although i spent all winter wishing for the summer ..........i dont know i suppose im hard to please but this shit is unbearable .

Why is AC so rare in england? You can get one for $30 here and takes 5 mins to put it in a window

It's because the humidity is so high. We just did a spate of 118 with 75% humidity and I thought I was going to die. That's when I shut down my lights. I do understand. This heat wave is horrific. I think that's why everyone is a bit on edge too.

a very wide net to this heat wave if it's on both sides of the Atlantic
we've had unbelievable high humidities in the northeast USA for the last month, more like the deep south

Nope, brand new at a local wholesale liquidators store. Small, but perfect for the bedroom. I'm in MA if that means anything
It means that your experience is not typical :). So to tell someone you can get an AC window unit for $30 is realistic, just not usual. Most 5000 btu units, brand new, are over $100.
