Does it worth to add fluor with HPS?

Hi all!

I'm a first timer in growing and I'm about to seed some sour diesel with 400w hps, about 5 plants. :weed:

I'm a little worried about the 400w but no money for now, so I'm thinking about adding some 200w in fluor. I'm thinking to use them for the lower parts that dont get much light as the tops.

does it worth it, gonna increase they yield or just wasted money for power?

well I have 2 T5's 20w each I think, and I'lget a 200 cfl.

yeah thanks, I think I'll set it this way.
I use a 200w CFL as my main light, it's pretty good and I get decent buds, although sativa's end up being very non-dense in bud structure.

That's good :bigjoint: So cfl is not that useless as I thought.

Ok, sativas usually don't have the fat buds of indicas indoors but I hope the genetics of diesel and a good fertilizer will do the job.

Iv been growing with hps and cfl for a while and I would only use the cfl for clones. just not worth the energy they provide for the plants vs the energy they burn from my outlet.

...they are very effective in the lower parts of the plant when using a 400w. It will give you more robust popcorn buds, and will help the middle part of the plants as well (if you have leafy plants that the 400 can't penetrate well that is).

6500k for veg, and 2700k for flower.

I have a 400 MH and 400 HPS....and have a T5 HO 4' four-bulb blasting the bottom halves of my plants. I like the T5's over CFL's because there's less shadows with the longer lights. Each CFL is a single light point, while I have 4' of lights covering a bigger area. There are more lightbulb choices with T5's too, as you can go with aquarium light bulbs that mimic the favorable light spectrum LED's offer. I have 2 3000k and 2 6000k bulbs for my side lights.
