This year I said fuck the rippers and just planted my sweet holy herb everywhere man. If smokey the bear or some sticky fingered punk wants to rip my crop theyre gonna have A LOT of looking and walking to do. These things are so spread out sometimes I cant even find them! What kind of world do we live in where a man cant even plant a simple herb garden among the trees.

Having one if you get raided will put that charge on your list. They can use that to "entice" you into plea bargaining to a lesser charge usually still resulting in serving some sort of time. I'd rather let someone run of with my plants than to end their life over it.
Good info thanks. And I agree, I wouldn't shoot anyone to protect my plants. I'll let the dogs take care of that. It's me and the wife I worry about. Always hear a few stories about home invasions around harvest time.

I live on an island, where I'm from nobody grows indoors because nobody can afford to, so we have these teams that scout out areas for the sole purpose of ripping ops. These are usually kids with addicts for parents, don't be so hard on rippers it does suck to lose something you've invested your blood, sweat, and tears on for the past 3 months, but it also sucks to come home(maybe) to abusive folks. C'mon guys cannabis is for sharing as long as you don't take more than you need. P.s. addicts will sell food stamps in order to get their fix before feeding their kids.

I was a heroin addict from the age of 18 to my early 20's... there was a lot of things I would have done for dope, but there were just as many things if not more that I would not have done for it. I absolutely would not have sold my food stamps before feeding my children. I worked temporary labor jobs when the work was available. Sometimes when I didn't have any cash and I was in withdrawal I would sell my CDs or DVDs, other electronics, gift cards I was given, savings bonds and things like that. If I was really desperate I would go scrounging around for whatever the hell I could find, cans and spare change, copper, prescription pills... but if I happened to just find money laying around which I knew did not belong to me it was very easy to tell myself I was "borrowing" it. If I absolutely knew that I was SOL I would admit myself into a detox facility.
On the one hand, drug addiction has a psycho-social complexity which shouldn't be dismissed. The physical withdrawal syndrome from opioids is not pretty. Without any drugs a serious addict with a high tolerance would have to endure the week of physical agony from the acute withdrawal period, potentially followed by several more weeks of emotional agony. Symptoms begin from 6-12 hours after the last usage depending on dose, after which you'll start getting mild withdrawal symptoms. From 24-36 hours later, without a suitable opioid you're really going to feel like shit; probably haven't slept much, have restless legs, general malaise, increased heart-rate and blood pressure, lack of appetite and low fluid intake, head ache, goose-bumps, chills and cold sweats, runny nose, yawning incessantly... stomach cramps and nausea are common, and surely diarrhea to follow if things progress. Also your genitals tend get super sensitive.
... Now on the other hand, you have options other than outright thievery and ripping other peoples weed to get money, and to get money for drugs (and to get weed for that matter: GROW YOUR OWN!). There are ways out if you are a drug addict, or dependent on opioids. Pyschosocial support for addicts is certainly available and often for free or covered by insurance. No matter what those narc\alcoholics anonymous fanatics try to tell you, you are not powerless over your addiction. I think most sensible addicts realize at some point that their situation is not sustainable and they are going no where, especially the younger ones. There is help and methadone/buprenorphine available to opioid addicts in the US. If you want to be a drug addict maybe you should sell drugs or perhaps even focus on finding yourself a decent paying job.

Congratulations on kicking the habit Nullis addiction is a serious thing that alot of people really don't take seriously or just flat out justify with fair world reasoning "they did it to themselves ect." But you seem like a sensible person, but it's a completely different mentality here in this rock in the ocean. The damn islands 13 miles long as far as help goes for addicts it's almost non-existent not that anyone here would go(very prideful people). We don't even have a real hospital just a "hospital" that can stabilize you and not much more unfortunately. Even if there are a shitload of ways to get money and cannabis people here would rather resort to stealing it, very lazy mentality here.
