How can you conserve as a medical patient?

Hey everyone, hope you are enjoying this great sunday here in CO. 8 months ago I started using mmj for lower back pain. It has worked great, my only complaint is how rapidly my tolerance rose, with daily smoking. I started 8 months ago smoking about .5 grams a day, now it is up to about 3-4 grams a day just to control my pain, and just catching a minor buzz. I would take a tolerance break, but without the bud I am in horrible pain all the time. So does anyone have any tips on how to conserve or decrease tolerance, while still medicating? thanks

I medicate with a different strain each week, I rotate through 3 kinds of bud normally. Seems to do the trick for tolerance because each bud has its own effect and after not having it for 2 weeks it feels strong again when you come back around to it.

First thing to lower tolerance most effectively would be to stop smoking for about 48 hours to at least half what's in your body. Second I would recommend is exercising for about 30-40 minutes a day. Enough to work up a good sweat and feel tired. Exercising definitely does help push your blood around and circulate it more. It won't get it out of your system but it will help your metabolism break it down and "holster" it one could say. If exercising is difficult, try beginning with stretching at home to help circulate the blood. Even just hanging out watching tv, just hop on the floor and stretch out your legs, lay down and reach your arms high up, whatever you are capable of my friend.

Another thing that sounds like it would be useful for you though would be making some baked goods instead of smoking all the time. The effects last a lot longer when ingested vs. inhaled. Takes longer to begin, but is dragged out much much longer, could be as long as 5-8 hours depending on how much.

Hope something works. Good luck

Thank you very much for the suggestions. I can't really excercise, but I will try stretching. I would take a 48 hour break, but the pain becomes way too much and I refse to take the narcotic pain pills the doctors want to shove down your throat. I have tried edibles and do like them, but isnt it really a more efficient ROA?

Hey, I typically medicate myself everyday through the edibles I bake from our grow, I will vape some here and there but my preference is edibles, because the effects last for a lot longer than smoking or vaping. That being said, one of the perks to growing is having more than one way to medicate. We have flowers, edibles, tincture, kief and some bubble hash. Spend some time in the medicating board and read up on how to make your own cannabutter and coconut oil. Once you have that down then start baking. I find coconut oil to be the strongest and that is due to it's lipid profile. Read up and then jump in and start experimenting.

Your options really open up when you grow. I'm testing out a variety of options too, just tried tincture, made some oil, getting a vape pen this week. Edibles are a whole 'nother thing, be aware that they take a lot longer to kick in and last longer. I have met several heavy consumers who dab the oil and swear by it. Not my cup of tea, but it is hard to imagine a more efficient way to ingest a large dose immediately. Maybe an oil pen would work for you? Good luck with it. I am finding the cannabis methods are working better than the pills from the doc and are a whole lot more fun. YMMV.

Oh Vinny forgot to mentioning have an o pen and that I have been through two cervical fusions in the past 2 years and was on 10 different medications. I was able to get off all of them but one (nerve medication) thanks to cannabis and I haven't missed all the nasty side effects, I was on them for 3 years. I got on them originally due to pain from a collapsed disc.

Get yourself some grow lights and learn to grow , this is the most conservative thing to do and you might be trowing roaches or medible leftovers away on a regular basis due to excess lol
