Impressive but a long way from a clean operation.
On my way to CBCB, the last of the 2012 Pinot Noir is for them.
To commemorate the last of 2012, you will receive a free Frenchy Cannoli 100% OUH LA LA sticker with your Pinot

Here is IWE produced from 3 blackberry kush plants in 7 gallon pots. I would guess combined they weighed between 3/4 and 1 lb of flowers all together. The trims were fresh frozen. The water was a nice neon green and an intense smell appeared after less than a minute of agitation. I used a small machine.

This is my favorite plant for buzz and IWE potential.
Heres two and the frosty to be fresh frozen shots:

Unless its winter I don't even try to make this IWE into ice wax, it very sticky and has a taffy like consistency (even the 190, 160, and 25). Instead I do my best to dry the fruit roll ups by stretching them as thin as possible. Even at fridge temps this IWE is sticky and stretch which is good because at room temp you cannot touch it without it gooing all over any surface, even non-stick, 25 micron drying screens, and parchment. BIG dab... MMMMmelty!

First pic is the goo blobs after extraction, and 1 week of drying in my fridge; laying on the 25 screen with brown paper towels under it, and covered to prevent fuzz falling in over time. I do this because cold is our ally for a clean separation, both of the resin heads from the leaves as well as the water from the resin mass during drying. If temp of the mixture rises then some oils, terps etc mix with the water and also evaporate off as the water does = slight quality loss. Obviously, increasing the surface area somehow for faster drying is ideal, but with this IWE I cannot unless its almost frozen. (big pain to do) So I go with a slow, cold dry as just leaving it out seems to create a 'skin' on the outside that traps in a lot of residual water.

I spun four washes on the same material and did use a 220 work bag in the machine. The left column is first pull and the right is 4th pull. Bottom dark blobs are 38 micron and the top are mostly 160. The piles are 160, 70, 38 except the left column. Look at the first spin tho (left column). The top blob is 190 the second down is the 160 and I already dabbed the 120 (not in pic) which is lighter in color than the 70. First spin 160 can be good depending on genetics, after that its too green for me.

Then these are after I gave it the old taffy stretch to thin out the blobs for further drying out of the fridge. As soon as I set them down they re-adhere to the 25 screen and (I must refrigerate to remove intact) its taffy, sticky, angel hair mess time again. Natural light, then flash, then a detail of the taffy consistency as well as ash left behind after a dab of the 160 which is nice but is not as pure as the 70 or the (purest IMO) 120 which vanished very quickly on my nail.

Any advice on collection, drying, and of course pressing of sticky, taffy resin varieties? Danks. Glad I finally have more of this amazing IWE.
My gardens best, my 100% OUH LA LA!

Interestingly when I grew this strain veganic the 70 was not so gooey more of crumbly and yellowish clear extract. I grew these in a Super Soil based on subs with my own additions as well. Here is the trunk of the mainlined one.

I also found my first hand press pics. I will get that experience posted up soon as well...
Mucho Danks to the RUI community and contributors for the info and dialogue along my journey!

Some of your light colored chunk looks very impressive, let me know if you can press your 160 and how good it is. Impressive strains to give trichomes that big.
Sticky is a pain but soooooooooo yummy!

For people who think that oxidation, happening during drying and pressing, deteriorate the trichomes and affect the quality, check the number. We all agree that THC and CBD become CBN when there is degradation, the Pinot Noir show 0.14% of CBN.
I take those number all day to have a perfect decarboxylation and bounding of the terpenes to the cannabinoids.
Thanks for the pics my friends

006.jpgI cant decide what I like better so for now I make a little of both, presses and grated. Works out good because I always end up with small pieces that wont grate, so I let them dry a few days longer, then press into cannoli. Left one is a mix of sour strains and the right is deadhead/Tahoe mix. Bottom is the 45 from both.

hey frenchy, awesome shit bro. have you ever tried Matt Rize's IWE? I'm just curious to see how yours stacks up against his. If you haven't, I'm sure Subby tha God would be able to shed some light.

Frenchy I am still so new at hand press that I fear just wasting this sticky taffy and making a big aromatherapeutic mess instead of something I can enjoy in my pipe. Once it is dry fully I hope it will be more crumbly texture and I will definitely give it a go. Maybe half and half like fog was saying, very beautiful display by the way.

Here is the Elf snack. I mixed about a gram of both 38 and 70 (a little heavier on the 70) for my first go round. It was much more work than I expected!

Elf Snack IWE before:

After about 15 minutes of pressing in the sun
P1120892.jpg

I stopped after about 25 minutes, with very tired hands and wrists
P1120893.jpg

A bit of left over I made into tiny snakes to salvage

My worry is that with a stickier IWE a bunch can be left on the hand? I really hope the taffy turns to crumble over the next few days...
