Press them some more my friend, they will get better. You really want to see a full "fusion" of the trichomes, since your quality looks top the little cracks that I see on the Cannoli means that you can push your press further.
DO NOT BE AFRAID to press, and repress and some more when you use a heat of approx.220F, should last around 20 minutes.
Try a little chunk in your hand and see how far you can have the hand press last and how much gain in smell you will get, then adapt it to the rest of the Cannoli.
Working the trichomes by hand when you have never pressed hash is the way to learn and the best way to judge quality

I have, a few time but I did press his IWE before smoking and yes it was yummy. He is an artist with the highest standards but I do not agree with his technique and end product.
You cannot really compare our products since Matt does not make Hashish but Ice Wax. He does not do a decarboxylation which is most important for me, does not press the trichomes to bound the terpenes to the cannabinoids which not only influence potency but lock the smell in the resin mass, he does not cure or age either.
Not much in common as you can see because even our way to collect trichomes is very different.

If you work with stickier material, you better use gloves. You can also press it with a bottle of boiling water in plastic.
I am asking everybody to do it by hand a few times just so that you really get the feel of the changes happening with all senses before using only your eyes. Also a good think to do before pressing a new strain, just so you get to know each other in a more intimate way.

There is a clip on sieving in Morocco that's pretty cool, it will give you a good idea of the process, actually one type since every family seems to have their own ways.

Frenchy, have you ever eaten your Cannoli? I was talking to this Old School Sixties Radical Cat the other night. He was talking about eating hash back in the sixties. He was very excited to tell me how mind blowing the experience was; so that made me wonder how you feel about it? Also in your travels\experiences have you come across ppl eating much hash straight up? Sounds Pretty Amazing!!

I now have a better understanding why big hands is an asset. They are probably stronger as well as being a larger surface to work on. My blackberry is finally almost fully dry and is a bit less of a mess now. I may muck it up a bit with gloves but I will try. They have to be pretty tight fit? Wear mediums on a large hand? I don't think I have enough material t warrant a bag 3 or so grams of 70.
The colder the better IMO. Shoot for under 40F with under 35F being ideal. I once did an amazingly pure run considering it was outdoor trims, outside at night in winter, in 25f degree temps by the time I was finished. Definitely had to work real fast! I may have pics of the IWE freezing as soon as collected from the bags, ill look. Bigger, home made, ice from a deep freezer will get you and keep you coldest.

No I never have, if you can't stand it very long with gloves the water is plenty cold enough. As long as there is ice floating (you have to listen to your machine as well) the water is ice cold.
I will soon get more organized and will make new videos with TC, giving a lot more details and working with different strains and type of trims

I press very small quantity in plastic, actually small is better at that level too. You will just have to let the weight of the bottle of boiling water do the work, press it the first time super flat that you can see through. Put it in the fridge for 5 to 10 seconds, crack the plastic, only one side will come easy. Fold that half in two, then again, take it off the plastic, make a ball a ball of it by rolling it in your palm. Let it cure in a container that will have to be small because of the quantity you are working with.

Just a question about the different methods of trichome separation.
So I was pondering the use of a tumbler machine. However, since it really only separates the trichomes from the leaf would it be possible to take the keif from your dry sift and further refine it through the different micron sizes of the bubble bags? Also would it be damaging to the trichome or terpenes if you took the dry sift and ran it through a normal ice water extraction?
Hopefully my idea isn't completely counter productive. It just seems that by tumbling first, I can more easily remove the trichomes and separate a larger amount of glands through the Ice water method.
