Yeah, there are tons of billboards for christian rock radio stations and such when you get to GR. We have friends in GR and go there often and they told us that the religion/conservatism in the city is due to the Van Andels early influence in the area. Apparently they were/are pretty active in religious causes and missions.

i might be mistaken but I'm pretty sure the biggest christian book store in the world is in GR. my ex wifes dad has a book collection that ranks in the top ten in the world, he had more books then anyone I've ever seen. spent hours and hours every day on the phone with other god addicts trading books and talking about nonsense. Grand rapids was his kind of town. went there often.

Leduff is the man, makes the news watchable. Flint was off the charts bad last week. Two kids killed as collateral damage in double and triple homicide. That
is the kind of shit that makes me lose faith in humanity.

If I was looking to move to mi from another state I wouldn't hesitate a second! Fuck Grand Rapids, flint an Detroit. 3 city's that give us a huge bad name. Look to the Michigan national forest my friend she'll show you the way.
