Magnetic Ballasts are actually the best to have as you can do a lot more with them and if you need to get parts to fix them they are cheap.

Just put it in the closet, what a pain. found a pretty nice poorman way to hang it tho..... Baby Gate pressed on walls like a shelf, only yhing is a pain to get it. accidently dropped it and it basicly LST'd my 1 clone for me:neutral:..... so jus did the other too so can keep them all even. put it 28" from canopy will lower it later tho not sure how far, this is all make shift for now till i get my tent. lol damn it messes with the camera....

I'd secure that ballast a bit better. Also you may want to try out a vertical setup with your light/plants.

woah, is that a diy ballast? or you just dissassembled it oO /ScaredOfFire
its a security type from above a factory door. the encloser was way to big and heavy 50 LBs-ish so i trimmed it down for better air flow and to lighten it up a bit. so i guess is kinda DiY but no its not a Kit. (Fire Exshaustisher thing near too so :-) l this one but not the exact make......
