So I was just informed today that Amber trichomes or the break down into CBN do not produce a couch lock effect.
That this was actually a "stoner myth" thoughts welcome

In my experience amber is usually a heavier high or couch lock compared to no amber which is more uplifting with energy.

I tend to agree with the amber part, but I don't grow many indicas anymore I am a sativa fan and harvest when mostly cloudy.

Thank you both that has been my experience as well, U just thought it odd I have never heard it was a myth until the guy in my sig said so.
I just thought it weird since it was something I experienced first hand.

It may sound odd but I just don't get into the chemistry of bud that much, I know what I like in my smoke and have found the range of clear and cloudy best suited for my high in sativas. I do however get more into the chemistry of my soil and its relationship to my plant. According to many of the young people on here I am just too old school in growing, but hey to each their own, I know that when my soil is right that I don't believe that you need anything else. Hell, the plant can only take up so much stuff and a good composted soil has everything in it you need.......some extra teas now and then are great depending on the strain. I know I can't always go like that if a strain is an especially heavy feeder, but then I tend not growing that strain again, just me.

The problem is you cannot really resolve this debate since it is very subjective. You would need to do a blind study with a large sample, and then you would need to do it across different strains to measure variability. Even if you did all this, the results could be easily debunked because of external factors (like what the smokers ate/drank, how there day was etc) could also play into how the "felt" after smoking a given strain.

I harvest at 5-10% amber (among other signs)since it had been shown that when the thc inside of trichomes begin to degrade, they turn amber. If I want couch-lock I will grow an indica.

Your getting a little bit to deep on this,I agree with you and am not looking for an answer more proving a point.
My Sig is what I am harassing and don't really need a double blind study of a million strains to come up with what is my personal experience.
