hey jela i think i can learn from you!!! im really interested in the time it takes you to get your first buds from the day you flip the light to 12/12 as im having problems my 4 are from seed but i have babies from them ready to go

Fingers crossed Who-kie, could be like my C99 where I had to crop the stems over in week 3, it was so tall. All the picture of the final colas were at 15° off the horizon....at least it yielded nicely.

Thanks for stopping in horibleherk....I actually have small puffballs starting inside the the growth tips right now. Looks like I'll learn from you too, you are already at 50" over the medium.

i think this could be my stretchiest yet pineapple chunk & killing fields were stretchy too as well as g13 haze im interested in your nutes as well are they formulated to perform in coco???

HH, using the full Canna Lineup for coco.. for me DinaFem "Grapefruit" and Female Seeds "C99" were the tallest so far and needed severe supecropping. BF LSD and Samsara "Crazy Miss Hyde" pushed the limits too but stopped just short of exceeding height constraints.

Gosh dam, the lights came today and the tops were 4" from the LED's today...it's like a second wind of stretch....I just upped my nutes by a couple of ml/gl based on Canna's feed charts...now I'm officially concerned....did some light supercropping (radial pinching without snapping the stem completely). I'm gonna leave them up close to the lights for a few hours, maybe they will send signals down low to halt the stretch. Probably useless though, they grow faster with lights off.

be carefull supercropping near the top as they try to snap all the way in two on the new growth ive snapped a few my prefered co co method is e&f 75% coco 25% perlite in 3 gal smart pots with the timer set to flood once daily in veg & twice daily in flower i use gh-3 part flora series nutes & keep it simple program but am thinking of switching to coco specific nutes my next grow is gonna be in happy frog soil & your rockwool/coco combo looks good ive had some good grows using r/w slabs rockwool really holds nutes & moisture good & given my hectic work schedule i call my method the ''lazy mans'' hydro because outside of maintaining the reservoir level its pretty self-sufficient

Too, late, I snapped one....a thinner one too, near the top....didn't know I had done it till I saw it hanging down this morning...maybe it will make a come-back...they way these things are growing.

While I wait and worry about stretch....I want to show you a quick timeline of the Female Seeds "C99" grow I did. I didn't FIM or top back then and really...when young they had all the looks of a bushy plant. Then the flip came and the center stalks took off like rockets (super stretch). I ended up snapping the stems 8" from the top because they were literally up against the LED's as high as they would go in the tent. After some days they lifted back up a fair amount. The end was a surprise when I got these lovely, bushy colas from each plant. The plants went 3.5 to 3.75oz each once cured. Can't complain, but man was it hard to snap the neck of a plant that age. The 6th pic details the snapped main.

If they snap again not to worry bro! I have myself a few accidents a year, especially getting outdoor plants back onto the screen. They respond very well to a bandage, heals very fast. I get this stuff here called 'Steriseal' that I use to protect the broken part from germs, and just bandage it with some cheesecloth. I wait about 10 days to take the bandage off and you won't believe how well it heals.

Take care bro and have an excellent week!

Getting a lot of feedback on the expense of Grodan Mini-Rockwool Grow-cubes as a hempy medium. Here I have some cardboard flats with fresh cubes that were rinsed & prepared and the ones I took from the bucket bottoms. Can you tell the difference? Up close you'll see, I spent all of 15 minutes snatching hand-fulls of cubes from the used bucket "plugs", and pulling out roots were concentrated.....easy. I use Cannazyme regularly in my grows and it dissolves all deciduous matter into plant food. Never a fear of root rot here...a pinch of Piranha benificail microbes never hurts during transplant either.
Hey Jela, just catching up after being away for a few days, but I'm a little Robert Plant "Dazed & Confused" about your reference to Cannazym. After doing a search on the 'net and reading about it, I understand the concept. What I'm confused about is, did you separate the rockwool from the bottom of the plant and pull the roots out yourself to clean them up? Or did you separate the rockwool from the bottom of the plant, and then rinse them in a cannazym solution to rid the rockwool of the root matter? (And if the answer isn't the latter, do you think the second scenario would work)? New paragraph, I wish! So a local hydro shop is ordering in Grodan Grow-cubes for me, because as you mentioned earlier I have a case of "Hempy Fever." I'm blown away by the growth I have in the maximum 16-ounce, Michael Bloomberg hempy starter cups compared to the same clones (replacement mother plants) I have in promix-perlite in regular potting cups. I cut down four flowering plants last night on my return home, and I have another four to come down in the next two weeks. After some company comes and goes, I plan on starting at least five, two gallon Hempy Buckets at the end of August. Can't wait! One other question, which might be more appropriate for Psilocybindude since I believe he uses the GH Flora series: I've been giving the clones in the Michael Bloomberg mini-Hempy cups a one-third dose of nutes every second feeding (about every six days, with a plain watering in between) but the new growth on some of the plants seems to be lighter green and more wide spread than normal. I don't want to scorch the girls with a higher dosage of nutes, but is a half-dose of nutes per week (in essence) more reasonable?

Jela just wanted to say I read all 11 pages and appreciate the nice pictures and recommendations. I'll be watching from here on out.
Welcome to my grow NightRider.....I hope this is comes out on the bright side...in the reflux of possible disaster right now...will have to make something work. It might not be pretty but I'm sticking to it till the end.

Pcinla, Robert Plant is my hero...... since the rockwool cubes occupy the bottom of the buckets, its really easy to snag handfuls from the leftover bucket shaped "plug" and drop them onto a drying surface (cardboard flat for me). I simply grasp any root matter that is concentrated into a mass and remove it. I don't even snang the little stuff penetrating individual cubes. After thoroughly drying the cubes, I will use them for my next bucket as is. When I transplant to the buckets, I will add canazyme at regular 10ml/gal doses and it will take care of dissolving any root matter then. If I were going to reuse it immediately, with wet root matter, I probably would presoak it with a cannazyme treatment before using. Can't speak much on the GH Flora nutes, I have used the FloraNova series before so this I can say ...start with a 1/4 dose, move to 1/2 doses and simply read your plants before full dosage starts. Plain water every other time is going to make them hard to read...nute them every time. A little yellowing isn't bad, just step up a little at a time till you get the feel for the plants ability to cope. My Canna nutrients are really easy on young ones...the grow charts start at 5 days old from cuttings or sprouts...believe it or not.

Hey, hey, mama, said the way you move, gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove. Cool, Jela, as with previous posts I very much appreciate your insights, input and knowledge. However! Not enough to be your "back door man!" (Whole Lotta Love). Pcinla.

LOL..so I guess "Squeezing my Lemon" is out of the question.....so glad you didn't reference STH there Pcinla.

Day 15, stretch is slowing but only due to the last round of supercropping. The girls now need feeding every other day now and there's no slowing that down...Nice puff-balls forming everywhere.

hey jela day 15 & youve got more bud development than i do at day 42 im deeply considering starting over & returning back to hydro something is definaty haywire in my grow ive never had this happen in 3 years of back-to-back grows im afraid once it starts budding they wont develop normal ive got 6 clones ready to go decision time is pretty much here for me

Why aren't you bending them down and training them along the screen? That will increase the yield significantly and help with your height restraints. They are VERY far through the screen.

You should have started training them along the screen once they get a few inches above the screen - and trim away the very bottom branches that will not end up reaching the screen. Everything below screen level will not amount to much - it will be better to remove it and let the plant focus its energy on all the colas you will have at screen level.

I would also recommend bigger pots.

G-steps, you'd have to read more in the thread, I'm not a SCROG'er...this trellis is for plant support at 36" high..just didn't expect them to shoot 17" over the screen in a matter of days...supercropping is my method of slowing them down. I also explain the 2g hempy buckets earlier...I've made them pretty popular in the hempy world.

Horribleherk, I'm in day 15 of 12/12 after a 30 day veg....if you are in day 42 of 12/12, at 52" off the medium with no sign of flowers, you definitely have a problem..been watching yours and they all but show male pollen sacks. I really feel bad for you especially after the light burn, and would probably drop and start over with a different strain if I was you....Its much more fun to watch some manageable ladies do their thing at 36-48" in a tent..I've never seen your issue with lack of flowers in my experiences either....those are long tall ladies you got and the clones are spitting images.

I was just thinking that the trellis and it's adjustable height may come in handy later if these girls need the total stem snap. Up till now I've only been squeezing till I feel a few veins pop, not completely snapping the stem over. If worst comes to worst I'll just raise it up via holes in the telescoping legs, and snap the stems completely just below the cola bases similar to the c99 I showed earlier. The tops can just lay on the screen until they lift up partially, and the buds will propagate from a near horizontal stem. Hey did I tell you? The trellis actually keeps the big tent door from flopping inwards and crashing plants...my wife will love that when I'm away...she never can remember to open the door from the bottom zipper first instead of the top one and vice-versa on closure.
