I'm contemplating buying two tents to grow in. One for veg., one for flower. What benefits or advantages are their for tent growing? The thing that's drawing me towards them is the fact that it neatly contains everything. Is there any brands to stay away from? I was looking at lighthouse tents, they seem to be built well. If I go with a 600w hps light, what is the maximum sized tent for that light? Thanks in advance

You know... I was thinking of a grow tent.
It seems to be that every tent is either shit or amazing.
So if you going to buy a tent... I think the only brand would be Gorilla Tents.
If your going shitty, might as well hit up amazon.
Cause any of those crap tents that are 100-300 Bucks are going to be relatively the same quality.
Still going to need duct tape to patch up pinhole sized light leaks, nigger rig the zipper. Order extra corner peices for the plastic ones that broke,
or again. Patch it with tape lol. Probably going to need to think of some way to make extra supports at that top, and you'll always have to be delicate 'cause
those tents rip easy.
Yeah they have average grow tents for $300 that are good, but if your going to skip the $125 Tent on amazon, and pay that much extra..
might as well spend $450 on a 4 by 4 Gorilla tent.. and those things are the real ones... that are plug in and play type. Top notch if you have the money.
Anyways I ended up just building a wooden stand for me and just said fuck the tent. Of course we all have different situations.

Lol nice... See I was watching a video of the lighthouse tents and they looks exactly like the gorilla tents, in fact light house has completely copied the gorilla tent, all metal frame and joins, ect. But I might be wrong. My other option was to build my own but don't think I can build a room as nice as those tents.
My current grow area is just a closet with a tarp laid out, so I really want to get something more appropriate. Anyone on here have any experience with the lighthouse tents?

My first option would be to build a grow box using 2x3's and panda film way cheaper if I was in the space I have now before and didn't have the tents already I would've built mine. But I would go with a secret jardin tent for the quality or lighthouse hydro tents because they are very very well priced
The benefits of growing in a tent to me are you are able to run a veg/bloom area in the same room. Vent holes are already there for fans/ducting and its easier to contain and control.
The biggest I would use a 600hps for would be 4x4

It's true of all tents really. If they don't tear you'll break a zipper or some such shit. I ONLY buy the cheap ones off Kijiji/Amazon/Ebay 150$ for a 6.5ft x 6.5ft for that reason. Fuck grow shop tents.

I am a Gorilla tent user, and I would like to know how their tent ripped... Did they cut it with a blade? Because no way possible do these tents rip, and not by regular use any how...
The support is amazing on a gorrilla tent. I can turn my lights on in the tent and turn lights off on my room and you dont see anything. I also have a cheap tent where the support is very weak and their are light leaks.
Neither have I seen rip, but the zipper on my cheaper tent does give me some issues. With that being said, the extra few hundred could be better spent buying a tent that is worth it.

i had a green room GR120 with 600 hps
heat was an issue, but a rvk fan sorted me out , and a swing fan inside was needed
the benefits of the tent was stealth and i still could use the spare room for other stuff and smell it helped with that as well

I have a cheap tent and it works fine.
Tents are alright because they are easily built and taken down, easy to
clean and is a relatively cheap way to have a decent grow area.

I have also setup 4 of them for card holders I know, all of us are very happy with the product
The zippers can be a bitch until they are broke in and you have to be careful putting it together especially the corners to not rip it.
Other then that they are great went up fast about 20mins the first time I put it up, after that its about a 10min setup.
Been using mine for about 2 years and its holding up great, when clean it still looks brand new.
With the zippers I found if you pull the zipper towards you as you zip or unzip until its broke in, its much easier to move without it sticking.

I have the 2 x 4 x 7' lighthouse tent and it has been nothing but perfect for my $125 investment. There are minor light leaks in the zipper seam but they supply a large tab that goes over this to reduce issue. Knowing that I only spent ~$125 it suits my needs wonderful and bet many others would be satisfied in this price range.
Benefits:

- waterproof floor/pan for spillage (removable for cleaning)
- duct holes premanufactured and sealable (draw strings)
- metal frame to hang lights, fans, filters etc
- easy to monitor both room temps/RH and tent temps/RH

Some of these are true of any grow tent/grow box but i think something that spek alluded to but didn't call out is the environmental maintenance. A smaller grow ares, like a tent or grow box, is much easier to control RH and temps. It will cost you a lot less to cool the air in a 4x4 tent than to air condition a 10x10 room.Benefits:
