How mnay gallons of water do I use per 1 gallon pot for a flush? I have been told 1.5 to 3 gallons. Thanks!

Why are you flushing your plants m8?
If you're coming to the end of your grow, imvho a flush is un-needed.. it's a very debated topic around here, but I like to put it this way.. if flushing made all that much a difference, there would be no debate and everyone would simply flush, but this is not the case..
On the other hand, if you're flushing to fix a mistake such as an over feed, you'll want to use 3x's the water as soil you have .. e.g... 15 gallons of water for 5 gallons of soil..

I agree with Racerboy....only flush if you have an issue.
I do like to water with no nutes (pH water) for a period of time before harvest, but that's not flushing

I agree! based on experience. I stupidly flushed too much too often on one grow and totally messed it up. I think i flushed good nutes out of my containers and threw the biologic balance off. they all turned yellow and i had to chop them early. I never flush anymore. When I water i try to not have much run off. Like Racer said the only time I would do it is to fix a problem like over feeding. If you are using good water and good fertilizer why flush?

well i was under the impression that flushing was used to clean out the build up salts and stuff, and that it had to be done every three weeks. but i can see what you mean. i think i will just back off my nutes a little and do water, water, fert, repeat? idk, this is my second grow and im getting some great results but im also getting some weird ailments. its been hot and humid as hell here so that might also be it. i just figured i'd ask about all the flush fuss. thanks for the perspective and help!

always better to under nute than to over-nute.....as they say....if it's working don't finger poke it
With soil, I would for sure use straight water every second watering....some say every third watering.... nutes, water, water.

Anyway how does flushing your soil, flush your buds.
Once somethings in your plant the only way it can get out is through the Stomata.

flushing is not supposed to flush out the buds. flushing is supposed to unbind the excess salts and nute buildup from the roots/rhizosphere. i know this topic is up for debate all the time but if you ever listen to breeders like soma, kushman, dj short in their interviews they always say flush, flush, flush. i would trust what the pros have to say
personally i grow full organic. when growing with a complete soil and only feeding with plain water throughout veg and flower i see no reason to flush. there is no salt buildup and what would i do, flush out the plain water with more unadulterated water?

only flush 2 weeks before harvest if possible if you run into a problem can go as short as a 5 day flush, to get all that shit out. ive been told I have been getting to technical in my last post . so ill put it this way,, flush out fertilizer good no flush very bad. hope this helps.

i was wanting to go full organic but the mixture recipe i got called for way more soil than i planned on using and i didnt want to make something i wasnt going to use plus, i didnt want to screw up the mix if i tried to scale everything back. but i can see what you mean when it comes to "trusting the pros" on this. unfortunately i dont have the time to watch all the videos they put out nor do i know which ones to watch. i was watching a jorge ceraventes video but i didnt know how recent it was and the methods with growing are constantly changing and being tweaked. too many people do too many different things so its confusing on who i should listen to. i guess i could solve this by growing some bag seeds and experimenting with different methods on them. i do appreciate your opinion and help.
