Want to go from 400w to 600w

I wanna upgrade my light however I only got 400 bucks to use on everything. Any info is appreciated I would like to get a good type of ballast as I'm using a cheap htg magnetic I got a cooltube so that wouldn't be a problem.

I was lookin at soils tek and hydrofarm phantom. Need bulbs and stuff too.

check out e hydroponics. if your ok using the cool tube u have now it should be about 3- ish for a ushio buld and a ballast, throw in a 20 dollar timer and its good.

Word of warning. Make sure its sufficiently rf shielded as rf can cause problems, may only be the cheaper e ballasts. If I was going to get another e ballast this would be a major priority for me.

I just picked up a wing hood, 2MH bulbs, 2 HPS bulbs, silent 400w dual fan dimmable ballast, and light hangers for $112 off fleabay free shipping. the 600w is just a little more. I use my 400 in a 2x3x5ft tent. Not using the wing hood... the 400w fleabay Apollo ballast is better and runs cooler than my htg supply 600w digital ballast single fan I paid a lot more for. I plan to upgrade the bulbs when I get a chance but they work great for now and double as backup bulbs later.

Yeah I agree that's why I was looking at hydrofarm phantom I hear nothing but good reviews about it so ill prolly be getting it. Not sure.

Craigslist is another website if you are kind strapped for cash I and a few other guys I know have gotten some pretty decent stuff for growing check it out. Most of the stuff is local but some can be shipped

i went with a hydrofarm phantom ballast, cheap ipower bulbs (im sure ill regret it but i cant afford it), a 3x3 tent, and a new carbon filter ive used my current one since 2 or 3 grows ago.. time to battle heat problems im sure within the coming few weeks. only until i dial things in.

gonna also get a cooling controller for my ac this week or next week not sure yet. gotta get the grow closet cleaned up so i can put my tent in there and have a desk for all my nutes and jars etc..
