i've grown a lot of nl autos. they're really tough plants with excellent yields and awesome smoke. they are low odor also, a good plus for me with close neighbors. only had one that had strong odor and u could smell it to the high heavens: it smoke really good though. GL

IMHO there are lots of strains out there much better smoke and just as easy to grow as NL or AK.
Or at least better then what passes for NL and AK now, these strains are not the same as the genetics they got their names from.
Both have been worked and reworked thousands of times into what they sell now.
Which is watered down tasteless smell-less swag that are a shadow of what they once were.
Im a huge fan of NL but no seed company has a NL like I remember the original (except maybe sensi's).
There are tons of really great genetics out now that blow theses old strains out of the water.
The newer stuff just dose not have the name recognition of a NL or AK.

I have been blown away with TGA's Space Dawg, easy to grow, smells and tastes amazing and the high is outstanding.
I liked it so much I threw away a strain I have grown for 5yrs to make room for my new favorite keeper.
Found a keeper plant in a 5 pack.

NL is the unofficial strain for 1st grows, i grew out some nl#5 in my 1st
give its due, it was the largest yielder i've had to date, and that was 3+ years ago
you could do worse than NL, depends on if it matches your needs/tastes

IMO
Its run of the mill at best, it grows great but there is nothing special about it now.
It grows great indoors and at the hands of newbies because its been breed over and over indoors.
That dose not make it worth running to me, not even for a first grow.

Like I said im a fan of NL, but you say its yield is large..... ok what version?
Because ill tell you from experience if you grow out NL from 2 or 3 different breeders you are going to get 2-3 completely different plants.
And none of them are what NL started as, and there nowhere near consistent with the other breeders versions.
So what ones actually even have NL in them? No one knows anymore its been worked to much.
Its become a bland run of the mill indoor plant= grows great indoors, decent resin, ok high, ok/no taste, little to no smell

Im not going to waste my time growing sub-par pot, so im not going to recommend it to a new grower.
If your a cash cropper NL is great, easy, large yield, decent finished bud.
But if your growing for yourself and have the option why not get something that has that wow factor?.
Like I said the Space Dawg blew me away, I can smell one plant of it in a room with 11 other plants in flower.
Then not only dose it smell fruity but has a funky sour fruit taste, and rounds it all out with a high that hits like a hammer.
Thats the kind of pot I want to fill my room with so that's what I recommend to others.

Believe me I give NL its due, I love the original and a few versions of it--- Sensi's being one of them, but its $84 for 5 seeds.
But NL is in no way what it once was just too many hands in the pot as they say.

What do u all think about sea of seeds?
Never used them so I wont comment.

I have used Attitude seeds and hemp depot with no issues.
I have read that attitude is having allot of issues getting seeds threw US custom's right now.
And with Hemp Depot you have to order by sending a money order, so that turns some people off to them.
But they are one of the most trusted out there, I have always had very good experiences with them.
There site kinda sucks so I look around at attitudes site, then sometimes order the stuff I like threw Hemp Depot.

the version i grew out was nl#5 from HGS
i'll gladly agree versions will vary from breeder to breeder
but that's pretty much true about all strains, it's a breeder to breeder deal, IBL lineages are minimal out there
but the pheno i grew out was the most potent i've yet had, rocket fuel for the first 40 minutes, and then 3 hours of a very sweet indica feel
i actually wasn't looking for rocket fuel, so it wasn't my holy grail, but i'll give its due, it was everything that nl#5 was supposed to be

I dont doubt that, NL5 is a plant that holds a place in my heart.
Had a cherished cut for 8 years but sadly lost it during some rough times in my life.
Loved the indica stone it had never cared for the taste or smell but that stone made it all worth while.
I have grown out NL NL5 and NL5 x haze looking for a plant that had similar properties.
But in my search for only Sensi NL5 haze was close to the potency but was too sativa for my liking.
There NL is nice but not what I remember, close but still lacking in stone imo.
With some of the other breeders seeds I found it hard to believe NL had any part in its creation.

Edit: The last statement is off a bit, NL has had a part in just about all strains you see on the market.
It is probably the most worked and used strains in the world.
Breeders and growers snapped them up and did there work with it, it was a truly historical point in plant growing/breeding. I cant think of another plant that changed indoor cultivation more then NL and its pheno's #1-11.
I just find it hard to believe most of the NL branded strains on the market are a true representation of the original NL plants.
They were lost along the way, NL5 from a few places is close.
Its very good pot dont get me wrong but there is way better pot out there now then what is called NL and AK now.

What happens if your seeds get intercepted? besides not getting them..lol
You get a nice note from US customs saying your a bad bad boy who tried to get something naughty delivered.
Basically nothing happens you get your stuff taken and get a letter.
