Hydroponics stores? Safe or not effin safe?

So there is a Hydroponics store in my area. I am very tempted to shop there but I hear bad things about those places. How they are "being watched" and not safe for Mj growers. That seems to be a valid concern. All they would have to do is run your tag and boom, they found you. Am I just being paranoid or should I just stick to Lowes, Home Depot, Wal-mart, internet.. etc.. ? Thanks.

if you are from canada, its probably fine. most if not all hydro stores are more expensive though. but you will find alot of help from there, knowledge of products and growing tips. they usually have freebies too such as magazines and products you would not normally find online without searching it up. its a great place to check out every know and then.

All about the State, I'm afraid, on a County by County basis. Is the hydro store, really into all forms of hydro and all gardening in hydro? Or is it a Haven for Radicals?

There was a recent case where the local Law happened to observe a guy loading up on gear. They followed, staked him out and eventual embarrassed themselves in the middle of the night and someone could have been hurt.

Turned out he was a laid off, middle aged, engineer experimenting with tomato as a cash crop. So, all the usual things apply.

- buy small. just pieces at a time
- pay cash
- tell no one

Stay out of the hydro store if that's the kind of State you are in. :)

Consider nothing safe. In the USA we have less freedom everyday, trust no one.
I expect with the threat of more taxes the hydroponic stores are forced into giving up anything they have about us.
To stay safe, trust no one anytime or where.

If you know what you are doing ( never carry I.D., don't park near by, use cash over credit) you are virtually untraceable. Also scrub your finger prints :P

or if you are THAT paranoid just pay someone to buy the shit for you you can trust and don't really care for

I personally make purchases online. I seem to find the same product for much cheaper than most hydro stores. Plus you don't have to worry about cops waiting to stop you as you pull out of the parking lot.

It's a sad thing to think that we live in a country where people are paranoid to purchase items at a hydroponic store with " Big Brother " assuming it's for growing pot, what has become of our freedom? it seems that more and more we are losing our rights.

OK. Tell me your reaction to this, if you would. :)

I also buy stuff on line. And I don't remember what it was, a hood maybe. But, I see, written big on the side, 420.

???? So, I'm looking and it's not in the hand writting of the addresser and sure enough it crossed over the packing tape.

It was a large, perhaps female script, joy-ish.

??? UPS gal?

So, what I do is:

order single items or boxes
not from only one website
save the boxes and tear them down to throw away one at a time
tell no one

I live in Michigan. Medical MJ is legal. There's four different Hydro stores in town. I shop at two of them all of the time. I have never had any trouble in the two years I have been a customer. If you are growing legally, I'd say happy shopping because the man already knows you are growing. If you're not, that would be your call. I personally know the owners of both shops I visit. Neither one of those guys would knowingly be part of some sting op. That said, it doesn't stop the cops from staking out the place and using that acquired info.

Now we know the NSA already has shared it all, with the EPA, IRS and DEA...SEC, even.

People are the cannon fodder of Power.

if you are in a legal state the police wont waste the manpower staking out a hydro store. besides its entrapment to stake people out at a hydro store only to fallow them and pull them over later in the beliefs of them purchasing supplies for growing mj. only the dumb cops would try.

Unless you have more than 100 plants in each room and have a super major operation going , I wouldn't worry to much. Like everyone states buy small increments, park down the block ,watch your surroundings, say nothing , deny everything. And always blame it on the tomatoes.

Never have a problem at my local hydro. I think its safer than buying online with trackers and what not.

I borrow a car that's not registered at my home address. Hydro owner has things packed and in the car and I'm out the door in 5 minutes. This is my biggest exposure in my stealth grow and it's worth the extra steps to stay anonymous.

I buy most my grow specific on-line and have it shipped to a stealth PO box. But sometimes my buddies at the hydro store come in real handy in a pinch. Especially for bagged soil, it's big and heavy.

Don't be stupid or lazy. And if your in a medical state, don't let your guard down. It is still illegal at the federal level and all you are doing is making easy for them later on when they decide to prosecute and turn a blind eye to the state laws. It's not like they haven't done that before. And yes, a hydro shop owner will flip on you.

Don't' Tell, Don't Smell, Don't Sell.

I agree. But honestly. As soon as I get my medical card. I won't be paranoid about shopping at the local hydro store.

How are you doing officer what seem's to be the problem? (Cop makes up some lies) Is there a reason why you are pulling me over officer? (more lies) Am I being detained or am I free to go officer? (cop get's mad now) Am I being detained or am I free to go? Am I being detained or am I free to go? Am I being detained or am I free to go?
Cop let's you go because he didn't have a valid reason to pull you over (assuming you haven't been speeding and are following all traffic laws)

Know you rights and never bend over to the public servants...

And you proceed to file a law suit while recording the whole thing and walk away with a few million. Sounds good to me! Are you scared of the public servants?

To be considered entrapment legally, they would have to persuede you to buy grow equipment, you have to essentially be in a situation where you would not have commited the "crime" without police intervention. Plus police get away with entrapment all over the country constantly, there are a limited number of districts that even regard it as a true legal defence anymore.

Police can hold you for nothing more than "reasonable suspicion", which needs not be justifiable to anyone but themselves. Also, they could just as easily accuse you of any other of a number of ungrounded reasons. "You were swerving".

It's disgusting.
