How do you feel about this set up?

I feel that you should have the ability to more those lights down a lot. Looks good otherwise. How are you controlling the smell?

Looks real nice and clean!! I am not a cfl guy at all...so biased I suppose. At the very least I would think you'd want the light as close to your plants as possible---and those are fixed? You say 8 small plants.....as in sog? I 'feel' that if it were me, there only be one plant in that thing...I mean, what are the dimensions? But it looks real nice and you did a great job, please don't take me wrong. What are your plans for it? peace, gman

I like it. Leave the lights where they are, the mylar will do wonderous, incredible things when you close it all up. I like a clean organized grow and this appears to have both nailed.

The cabinet measures 24" tall 15" wide and 12 " deep.
LOL to me this looked like a 6 foot hallowed out fridge. Yeah if it's only 2 feet tall the lights are right where they need to be. But it looks like you have a nice little DIY aeroponics system there. Good luck with your grow.

your res looks clear it will grow green slime... should be non transparent I would also suggest using the pc fans both up high on one side as exhaust and a passive intake on the opposite wall, not on the same wall. cfls are not hot but put a few in a closed room of that size together and your gonna wanna move that air.

Wouldn't a fan on the intake side be a active intake. In this set up a active exhaust and active intake fan. A passive intake would be in this set up just a fan on the exhaust and a whole for an intake for a passive intake.

i think you should take more picture so we can see your ventilation. but honestly you could only grow one plant in there at the most. you would have to tie it down to grow sideways a little bit

do you have a inline fan and carbon filter?

not exactly sure what you just said or why but yes having a hole as a intake with fans on exhaust would be a passive intake and a fan on the intake would be a active intake.... if you pull air out of a room you have to replace it with the same amount so putting both of those fans as exhaust will move twice as much air through the box (with a passive intake)while creating a slightly negative pressure in the box. using 2 equally sized fans one for exhaust one for intake your only moving as much air as one fan can move. moving air is important, so is keeping your res in the dark.

to the op it does look good other than the couple things I mentioned work with it learn it grow some tiny plants and have fun. just paint the outside of the res with some black plastic paint... be fine prolly work ok the way it set up now
