MH's Thread Of Random Dankness

Well the single-strain grow journal thing isn't working for me, I'm too frigging all over the place to be able to stick to one anyway. AND. It gets so reserved too. ONE strain as a topic? MEH. Hell any topic goes far as I'm concerned, I promise not to get all butt-hurt if this thread gets derailed. Matter of fact, I encourage it.

So first I'm just going to get all the stuff I've been randomly sharing in one place, so some of the pics will be old news to a lot of you that pop by. Ignore them then. I can't help it, when it comes to my plants I am like that parent that keeps his kids' photos in his wallet and flashes them at everybody he meets. Except that I killed and smoked my little girls. Muahahahahahahaha.

So I've been going on and on about the SoG in various places, but really, I'm an outdoor guy. So here are some of my outdoor babes from the last few years, I apologise I don't take many pics of my girls but as the new runs finish I am planning on changing that. So tons of fresh porn on the way. But in the mean time, have a look at some of my Sats... You must love them and want them and wish you had their babies. LOL...

My flowering rig during a clean-up, ebb n flow with 1200w worth of HPS, about to bust out the third table and HPS for a total of 48 flowering plants under 1800w. Each 600 is covering just under one square meter. Got A/C, ceiling fans for circulation, passive inlets.
Mommy tent and clone box also in the same room, clone box temp controlled of course. Techs used: DWC, Ebb n Flow, Drain To Waste, and just starting up some organic using my own soil I cook right here, compost tea, and a nice potent little microbe tea made from rotting fruit, YUM (no seriously that shit STINKS and the smell won't wash off your hands I use rubber gloves when working with the fruit tea now LOL:

Those were about a head taller than I am, so let's say around 6'7" or so... The top colas couldn't fit in anything without being bent and broken :( ... I had to buy friggin HUGE glass jars but still picked a few nuglets off the bottom of the cola to make it fit.

Believe it or not, those were 10 litre plastic bags with soil generated by my permaculture garden and some horse poop and molasses as a top-dressing... 10 litres equals 2.6 gallons only :)

This one is grown the same way, my Critical Mass x NYCD, apologies for the shitty quality pic it came off my phone...

Sorry about helping to jumble up your LVBK thread, MH. Indica's really are not that bad, I think that lvbk is a bad example of just what an indica can really do. I've had cola's the length of my fore arm and wide as a softball.
Plus outdoors indicas tend to look like the most awesome christmas or Xmas trees you ever seen. If you want a fast vegging indica, man that critical sensi star is head of the critical jack herer which is a sativa, but the jack is starting to pull ahead now it has strong roots. It will soon be a Battle Royale: indica vs. sativa.

Well I can't dispute that at all. I am definitely going to be exploring all-out Indica herb a bit more, but next time around I will only order an Indica I have seen several grows of and liked what I saw. Looking at my history with herb, I'm mostly an all-out hybrid fan. Sativa type growth with Indica denseness and bud structure usually does the trick just fine for me. Normally Sativa LEANING, like a 40/60 Indica/Sativa is usually what I end up with, so I'm going to go for a more Indica dominant hybrid next to ease into it a bit better.

This one is top of my list right now: https://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/og-raskal-seeds-fire-alien-kush/prod_3578.html

It might be 50/50 but it looks ang grows like a pure Indica but with Sativa kinda vigour from what I've seen. Straight-up fuelly dankness, and I LOVE myself the fuel flavs indeed I do!

I wouldn't mind running a pure Afghani again, though. Those were rock solid nugs and huge ones too. Not the most complex flavour but still very nice.

Anyhow, about the Critical crosses: Critical Mass is Afghani x Skunk #1, so that makes it around 60 percent Indica, Skunk #1 is 70 percent Sativa... So there is some Sat kick in any critical cross. More I think about it, hybrids just make the most sense really...

I thought Critical had Big Bud in it? I'm sure I'm wrong, but I thought it was in the lineage somewhere, IDK. You have some amazing sativa pics bro, nice work. Good grief you're the sativa king man. Peace out.

You are spot-on Myco, that's because Critical is a re-working of Big Bud, and Big Bud is Aghani x Skunk #1 ;) So really Critical Mass and Big Bud have the same original mom and dad. I think it's one of those things that happened when Shanti Baba joined MNS, just like he re-worked the WW to get Black Widow.
Basically I reckon it was a very clever way to still work with his favourites without stepping on old connections too much. You know how guys get over brand-names, it can get nasty. 'Shanti' means peaceful and calm, or simply 'peaceful calm' depending on how it's used, so I guess he lives up to the name. Baba is a holy man in India, so his chosen breeder name literally means 'Peaceful Calm Holy Man'. Can't see somebody like that fighting over a brand-name myself.

OH and Myco, this is a 'random dankness' thread so you are most welcome to show off your favourite flowers too. I just KNOW you've got some gems on that external of yours!

I like that Alien kush. Thought about that aliens on moonshine. Your right about those critical's but the sensi star is suppose to be a 90% indica cross. I can say though that only one of the three is show strong indica traits and has leave blades almost three human fingers wide. I'm positive that one is one of those 90% indica, the other two show more critical traits with skinny leave blades.
I when I stop to think about though you're right about the hybrids. I really like the sativa sprawl and the indica density.

Myco that Sour Blueberry is looking so good I want to lick the screen. I can almost smell it from over here. I am a few weeks away from fresh bud-porn lol, but it's really kickin' over here now:

My new coco-mix is working about 100 times better than I thought possible. I have 2-week old Tahoe clones that have now overtaken LVBK mums of just over 9 weeks. Absolutely phenomenal growth rate really. Your idea with the Soft Ties is coming in really, really useful! I am using these small plastic-covered ties, plants that would be too small for LST are already being trained so beautifully.
My new coco mix is about 60 percent coco fibre with the rest made up of equal parts coir and chips, and an added 1/10th volume perlite. It is a VERY fluffy mix, and they are just LOVING it.

I also made a full switch to nutes made by my hydro supplier. I've been tentatively A/B comparing it to GHE's line and conclusion is: GHE SUCKS. This stuff kicks ass. No additives needed so far, it really is the most balanced nutes I have ever found. He reckons it has about the same stuff as GHE CLAIMS but it is in a much more readily available form. So far, zero cal/mag issues using his formula, the GHE plants, whole different story indeed.

I like the organic stuff, I like it a lot. But I have never seen a plant go the way it's going in the rough coco mix with Andy's nutes!!!

Anyhow, SPECTACULAR Tahoe run on the way. I'm only going to get pics when this run gets JUICY, I have a great feeling I think it will be one of my best ones yet, kinda re-setting the bar for myself...

Interesting times indeed!

Sounds like you have some pretty good nutes there Hamish. It also sounds like your coco soil is right on. You just gotta love when things come together like they are, you know. The reason I do organics is cause it's what i've seen my plants do best with, and the tastes, and flavors are amazing. If you can get that out of whatever else, I say go for it. If it keeps your plants healthy, and you in meds, well then that's all that matters really. Explosive growth is very fun to watch, and the end results are fun to smoke. I have a couple more shots from last night, but these are Blue O.G.
