LED Companies w/ LINKS

Was never a question in my book, just saying that I probably cant swing buying both. I'll have to give apache a call soon about ordering an at200. Decided the 660 woll be too much for me at this time. Any idea when the website will be updated?
 
Do you know of any umol readings on the 200 tags? I had sent them a follow up after talking about the 660 and havnt gotten anything yet.

Taken From VIPAR's site. Funny how a UK based company measures/advertises in feet but whatever, I'm assuming the readings came from the factory. What equipment they used isn't there on their site. Bottom line, without independent testing or a low cost universal way to duplicate a company's advertised readings it's basically marketing hoo-ha. Companies that are serious need to spend more time showing people how their products work and most importantly how to replicate their panel's abilities. And no offense Tags, thanks for the info btw :), but I just had to add my little ole opinion.

Those vipar's have some good numbers though. Wonder how it does at the outskirts of the coverage? And what chips or are they using a X lens like hydrogrow's.
 
^^ the froggy has spoken........you know those #s are exaggerated, remember the Bysen"novagrow"Helios panels pushing 3000umol @a foot, and claiming its stronger than the sun...ha.

Those generic Chinese leds are Not going to get those # ATM.....even with 30 degree lenses;-)

Yeah your right Apache shows no proof of hitting those numbers on the new panels......Tags is just doing what he's got too do:p.....remember DAwg's old quote Fran?

Here's A51's. I like the way they include a 400 HPS/MH to compare to their offering. It really helps to see how a panel compares to HPS, a much better understood indoor growing technique, and it helps to show how sensitive/accurate the device one's taking readings with is. In other words I'm just sayin' that it would be easier to sell panels by showing people how they perform in a way that's accessible to your market. So now that you bring it up, how does Apache Tech get their readings?

And P if the C's do hit those numbers, they do it with a lot more draw than Apache/A51 does, so you pay more running them, plus using less efficient diodes always results in less yield. Especially because of the heat they will put out, which you might know a little about ;). Sooner or later though they will perform well enough to grow effectively. How will the modern panel maker stay ahead?

I say it all the time...apache's website blows. I want to know all those kinda of things so I call and ask. He does the readings with a licore par meter in a huge non-reflective room. I use the growers house 1000w test to compare things too all the time. They also have a bunch of "top" led's tested to. They use a par meter and show readings all over the foot print at different height, not just peak. It's a really good way to see how the light is performing all over. They are all in my thread post #69 and also the at660 test like that I did myself is in the tread too, post #86.

I like apache obviously, specially now that they are fill the bigger growers needs. But I think everyone also knows that a51 is my #2 pick. They make some good lights at a great price and his website is like looking in my own mind. It's just isn't different really from the AT120's I already have had for a while. And I needed something bigger.
I don't really know where I am going with this other than, Apache, A51... fuck ya America!

But seriously when you look for the best quality lights available on the market you basically come down to Apache and A51. umol/w and quality components throughout they blow the rest away IMO.
I would like to see a normal person using a illumitex. The light I saw at the max yield show wasn't coming out till october, but it did 800+umols at 12" everywhere on a 4x4, I tested it. It is what rocky mountain high tested in that hightimes video.

Yeah seen this bitch......IDK, i'm kinda skeptical like puff on these, seems like those budzilla panels started quite the revolution/evolution? This year

Why are they "arcing" the led modules towards each other? To boost umol readings at the center? Lol they do realize most want to utilize all of our grow area.......maybe i'm to stoned
 
Vipar uses epistar and bridgelux and epiled. They are made by evergrow. Evergrow just came out with some new panels.

VIPAR: I appreciate your honesty. Our lights are from EverGrow, but they are not simply rebranded EverGrow lights. A lot of time and energy has gone into the testing and re-testing of our spectrum. The high par output comes down to the quality and viewing angle of the lenses, the heat management systems within our lights (Keeping the temps of the diodes lower thus increasing the PAR output of the diode) and the LEDs we use.
Your best bet at replacing your 1000W HPS with our products, would be 2 x B4X4. Here is a link if you.

Nice guy and pretty honest. Still a rebranded light to me but europe is probably buying quite a few of these. Wonder if they are getting better in quality, as in not breaking/showing up broke.

The advanced light is not what I was expecting. If it was wider than the canopy it would work I guess. I have wondered about doing opposite...convex. So to maximize coverage by sacrifice a little peak.
 
Vipar was just on here a couple months ago, stated their sources of each component they use in a convo with EH. (Same cases)

At least they were straight up with you, The new age Blackstar/Progrow- afforadable median
 
Am I the only person who spent 500 on veg lights?

Probably so but I am El Tib and I am adjusted to being in countries where lighting is limited.

Will Hans panels work better then CFL I used for veg, perhaps. Will they be worth investment? We will see.

Some of you are completely obnoxious about this. I grow weed in countries that most wont and it is getting a little old.
 
I'm pretty new to growing and have had limited experience, I wanted to try an led but there was so many companies out there, I was afraid to get ripped off. I was lucky enough to find this board and finally bought the new version area51 light. Jeff's accessibility and honesty convinced me to buy his product. Sorry I don't have any pic's to put up but I grew the same plant under his light and actually 2 of the same plant under a 150 watt hps light. In the end I was quite shocked, the area51 led out performed the hps. My led single plant actually produced more quality bud than the other two plants together under the hps. Plants were grown in the exact environment, each had a 2'x4' grow tent. These plants were veg'd under t5's so only flowered under the led and hps. That aurora indica from nirvana was a great looking plant under the led. Will buy a couple more of these lights from Jeff.
