The 60s are Coming Back

We are living in a decade that is eerily similar to the 60s. Everyone is nostalgic for the 50s, 80s & 90s. In the 60s people were just nostalgic for the 50s, maybe 20s too.

Instead of "haight ashbury" we had "occupy" in New York, Oakland and just about every state in America, as well as other countries. So it's an international phenomenon instead of just one street corner. The 60s started at the corner of haight and ashbury in cali.

Instead of acid, marijuana and cocaine slowly becoming nationally illegal drugs, we are slowly working towards finding the correct applications for such things.

Instead of a "mad men" stock rush, there is a bitcoin stock rush.

We have hipsters instead of hippies.

Our guns are being restricted (same as the 60s) we will probably be getting our right to bear arms back though, instead of losing it like we did in the 60s. the hipster movement will be 10x as big, and 100x as meaningless as the hippy movement.

the problem is marijuana is a "federally" illegal drug. ask anyone thats been been raided in a legal state..
also the skillrex and beatles mashup has nothing to do with the 60's coming back, its just someone looped 2 songs they liked together. skillrex had nothing to do with it. and with occupy, you know people were getting paid to "occupy" and just start shit.

and shaggy i dont know about this whole bit coin thing, the only place ive ever seen it other then you.. silk road. ill take cash or precious metal, not a currency that isnt worth shit when the world collapses because its based online. and the hipster movement is nothing like the 60's.. it wasnt a hippy movement it was a peace movement, freedom... get a job shaggy

...and then ten, twenty, thirty years later it happens again for the first time. Nostalgia seems like a built-in feature of aging. A totally awesome one, I'll give it that :)

I see part of what your saying,we are approaching a precipice in our paradigm of society, weather it is the same as the 60's,,,im not so sure to be honest. We have alot of distraction from what really matters in life, especially now more than ever.Everything from out phones to the car we drive,,we are distracted from how to reconcile our lives with our innermost truest intentions,,but thats merely my opinion speaking.

Thomas Jefferson said that we should have a revolution in our country every ten years, so we are WAY over due.

It's not exactly the same as the 60s, but it's definitely comparable. Ex: Civil Rights VS Immigrant Rights

Well, yes. Its a game essentially.I dont say that as an arbitrary statement either. Its sounds conspiracy theorist to say,but i feel that there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than any news network will ever reveal, its all about perception control and thats the biggest problem facing America today.

Oh. So you guys got immigrants all the rights they deserve (considering America used to advertise itself like: "Send us your week, hungry and weary" and whatnot)? And Democracy is perfect now... Yeah, I'm DEFINITELY late :dunce:
