Are you scraping your stems at all? My first batch I scraped two stripes from mid stem down to the cut. This latest round I tried scraping all the way around and now where roots are coming in it's mainly where I didn't scrape. I'll probably snip the rest off in the next day if they don't kick by then.

I've seen a thread too about the pool shock peaked my interest, but I want to think I found it on the farm. I'll look and try to find if I made some notes on it or have it bookmarked some where.

Edit: Basically, this pool shock comes in powered form.
1 gram of this powdered chlorine should be mixed into 1 gallon of water, to make what is almost an exact replacement for a bottle of Clear-Res.
Then, once you have this bottle of chlorine water, you would use 1 liquid oz per 5 gallons of water. Repeat every 3 days.

So for roughly $4 you can buy this pool shock that will make you roughly 454 gallons of Clear-Res!

I'm going to try that stuff. I also tried scraping the stem part under the plug before and ...no, not part of how I roll aside from the first try.

low tech plastic box rockwool cubes burp n mist 3/day. portable. power goes out, no prob. may take fw days longer (overall slower root growth) than aero, but hey keep it simple. hydrogen peroxide- first spray box/dome. always handle cubes w disposable glove, damn paper on plastic grodan cube shows blk bacteria in a dome fast. cull weak runts after 4 or 5 days, the rest will make it by then. no shake-n-bake em. yes in clonex.

Fuk them ezcloners.... put your cuttings in sand and out of direct light.. keep it moist. Done. Tryna tell ya..
There is definitely more than one way to skin a cat. The only things I don't like about the sand method is that you can't see the root development without disturbing the clone and once its rooted the roots won't be able to get good oxygen until its transplanted.

On my last run in my aero I left a couple extra in my cloner for about a total of 6 weeks, they were growing like crazy with roots over 3 feet long lol.

Problem with that is they tangle and it becomes a pain in the ass getting them out without tearing the roots. Trust me I know

update: I have to say the turn around has to be the addition of light back on the thing. no slime no mold no wilt nothing, res temps.....same 72 constant. by now it'd be in full swing as it's been almost a week. so I think the slime was from grime originally so I cleaned AND tried to cool it at the same time moving it out of the light and down to a cool spot on the floor; that change left them without enough light to root so the more I kept cooling ( as I cleaned it really well it had to be temps making it persist was my thinking). the light to the new clean res. lesson learned. I always thought plants needed little to no light to root as cuttings, I think I proved myself wrong here.

OK, took the clones on the 20th and had to trim some roots when I just transplanted all 100% of the ones cut that day. it HAD to be the lack of light weakening the plant. res temp was 78 when I looked at it today at transplant, all white healthy roots same with the root riot cubes I took on the 25th. look great under that 600 CMH in their dome. problem solved. Thanks all if missed you on the rep its probably cuz I needed to spread it.

I was using the search function, looking for info on the pool shock. The thread was mentioned in this one, but I can't find it. Do you guys know?

been using a dome for ages. 100% rooting in 5 - 7 days, hell sometimes just trimming my mothers I'll throw the trims in water and in two weeks they have roots.

Just did a test with low temps and low res temps, took longer and only got about 80% rate in a DIY aero cloner. So far, the best/fastest rooting I've seen trying different environments was low lighting (40W of LED), ambient temps around 80F +-3 and res temps of 70-75F. Of course it can be strain specific but I tested 3 different environments with one control strain so I'll be sticking to the 80 (ambient)/70 (res), RH constant around 65-70%.
