At least there are sun rises here :)
it is really not the same, I can remember watching sunsets that can bring a tear to your eye, watching from the esplanade in Redondo beach. Standing there all alone and then looking around and there dozens of people doing the same thing.

The Natural History museum, The Science and industry museum, The La Brea tar pits.... Fantastic! I miss LA (just dont miss all them people)

That looks so cool and yes doing that with a pilot friend would be AWESOME.

That all sounds good! I love the Natural History museum and the la brea tar pits! But yes there are sooooo many people here it's uncomfortable.

Blacks Beach.......................pics or it didn't happen!:-P
LOL I've surfed trestles and blacks but I was always in a wet suit.

I don't think I have any pictures of me surfing. I was either supposed to be in school or at home in bed. So I didn't exactly want photographic evidence of my crimes LOL.

So we went to see Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in World's End. It was pretty funny and we enjoyed it. I'd highly recommend We're the Millers (hysterical).

I'm in SoCal as well. I frequently check out travelzoo.com. Click on there "top 20 deals", or on their local deals - where you can pick San Diego, or whatever. Sometimes there are very good deals.

hey annie, I live in TX.. you live in cali. I think I'd like to live in cali rather than next to some dusty old cows lol. But hey, I still find things to amuse me. Hope you go out and have fun.. you can achieve the fun part by sitting down and lighting some pot  if I were you, I'd be burning one on the beach SOMEWHERE.. I guess you gotta get bored of things like that though..

Wasting a weekend in So. Cal.? Do what I used to... pack some weed and munchies, and hitch hike yer ass to Haight-Ashbury, find that kid, about 30 now, with the shrooms by the entrance to the park, right off Haight street, a lot of times he's over by the walking tunnel ... (not that asshole in the tie-dye with the dreads the one that's about 25 and keeps his shit in silly foil wraps inside foil wraps, inside his baggie with shroom, that's alcohol and food coloring on the blotter.)

Anyway, get there, drop 30 bucks, and you're golden.

You're in SoCal and you can't think of anything to do? amazing. What about booking a cabin at Mt. Baldy and getting a little reprieve from the heat? The drive to Santa Monica, Venice, etc. is not that far; people watching at Venice can't be beat.

My daughter and son-in-law live in Venice so I get to enjoy it for a few days when we visit them. My son-in-law is a film maker so he always takes great care of us and shows us an amazing time when we visit. It's been over 2 years since I've been but I'm planning on going down for a few days this winter.

If I was on SoCal I would go to the beach and watch the sunset. I moved to the east coast 20 years ago and that is the thing I miss the most. Hermosa pier, the light house bar, roller skateing on the strand. I could go on but you get the picture.
but you are probably in a place where the leaves turn in the fall..i miss that..i'm in sofla with nothing to do:sad:

I grew up in the Mid-Lannic states ... and the two things I miss out here in 'Fornia are fireflies and thunderstorms.

I'm a beltway refugee myself Canna. Aside from the traffic, the District of Criminals is an amazing place for day trips.
