Hey, probably 2-3 feet.. I will measure--I'm going to try and update tonight with some pics.

I've got some questions for you guys, not quite sure what to do...
-The currently furthest along plant, which is 70+ days into 12/12, has been nute locked for probably well over a month (prob huge salt buildup).. and I just didn't know what it looked like, but basically the buds just never grew after their initial spurt.
-I was feeding each plants little over 1/2 tsp of epsom salt every watering, also roughly 1 tsp of food...
-Recently you guys told me to flush the plant after seeing the CLAW.. and upon flushing for a few waterings, there are now tons of new bud growths all over the plant like I have never seen before, even some mutant bud growths on some top colas... The thing is, the plant is ready for harvest.. with decent amount of amber trichs.. and the main colas are getting sort of dry and crumbly (don't think its anything mold related, maybe it was just cut off from nutes and suffered).
-Its mostly the lower half of the plant that is exploding with new bud growth..

Should I cut off the upper half for harvest and let the lower grow? Or just harvest all? (also this plant is making seeds :\ )

Also, for future.. Im thinking epsom salts like once a month or less.. And feed nutes every other watering.. would this be better?

When you feed are you allowing them to sit in all the water that drains off? If so, there is your problem.

They are all in their own rubbermaid containers for excess water, elevated on pvc pipes so they dont sit in it

I feed every other watering. If I were you I would get a supplement for that magnesium instead of the epson salt. I like botanicares cal-mag. Too much epson will cause lockout.

How much did you flush? Was it three times the volume of your container?

I would harvest it all, FUCK IT!!! Start another plant.

Harvested plant #5. I'd estimate 2 oz... which is really good considering how much i screwed up this one.
-Lots of the lower growth was exploding post flush.. and lots of the buds have white hairs. Should anything be done about this?


Put harlequin #1 into 12/12.
Took 3 clones off of harlequin #1.
-Decided to use peat pellets inside a humidity dome.. hoping for 13 day roots or so.

And to answer the height question, My tallest plant is about 2 1/2 ft (which is plant 6, and should be my best plant thus far). the rest are around 2 ft or less.

Yo, time for an update.

Here's whats going on overall

Harvested the trouble plant, probably my worst grow as of yet.. but still not too bad. Overall, this was really necessary to learn about bad salt buildup/nute lockout/occasional flushing.
Here is a picture of some lower growth with tons of new white hairs bursting out of the nearly already done amber hairs.

Grow 6 is going to be my best grow as of yet I'm guessing, shes doing very well.
After I took these pictures I put a 18inch diameter 30inch height tomato cage around this plant, seems to help a lot as the buds are getting heavy and weight down the plant

Both of the origional harlequin clones are now flowering, they seem like really interesting plants.
After only 9-10 days of 12/12 there are already fingertip sized buds on the harlequin #2.. Never seen anything like this before, but its documented for the plant geno.

Harlequin #1
Put in 12/12 a few days ago.. couple days later than the harl #2 so that I could take 3 clones
The clones/cuttings seem to be doing well, they are in peat pellets, inside a humidity dome and get sprayed 2-3 times a day.

I'm going to be re-potting both Harlequins next watering (currently in like.. 1.4 Liter pots), I could do 2.5 gallon or 4.5 gallon buckets... what do you guys think? I was leaning toward 2.5 since these gals didn't have much veg time, but what do you thinks best?


Overall, I'm now feeding a lot less and taking only-water/low-nute watering more seriously. Going well so far..
I've also started getting back into using neem oil for spraying vegging plants as well as watering with it every few weeks. With the arrival of the new clones from an external source I started to notice some small bugs that are roughly spider-mite sized. Hopefully they do not get out of hand.

4.5 gal, IMO.

You have a dome on the clones right? I got roots in 12 days in rapid rooters on perlite.. watered once. Subbed up and stoked, love to see such an efficient grow.

When you grow organic you don't have to flush. It's a lot harder to over fert and get lockout. You should transplant those smaller plants.

dry weight: 66 grams
I guess its not too bad, but this plant probably should of been near 100 with proper care.

Also the 2 new flowering plants are in 2.5 Liter pots atm, not 1.5 -- will be transplanting tomorrow if anyone has pot size advice.

They both went into 5gal and are doing great.

Ive noticed that the bugs are traveling over to the big flowering plant and are eating it.
They are tiny and white and seem to be able to fly... So I'm guessing it's white flies.

Ive gone over the leaves many times and smushed as many as i could and It definitely helps, but I also ordered Azamax and Mighty wash.

It's really not all that bad of a infestation.. But I would like to remedy it if possible.

The plants are 37 18 and 9 days into 12/12.. what would you guys think about spraying all the plants with Neem and or Azamax at this stage??

Only use chemical's as a last resort. White flies can be killed naturally with predator's. Here is one website. There is a lot more out there.http://www.naturescontrol.com/whitefly.html

That interveinal clorosis is indicative of Magnesium deficiency. This usually starts on older leaves. It usually begins on the leaf margins or on the tips and moves in toward the veins.

Normally the leaves will cup upwards and pray. I do not see this in these photos but I do see the beginning of some twisting and this is another sign of Mg deficiency.

What is the ppm of your water? Anything above 200 will lock out Mg because of all the Calcium.

There could be several reasons this has happened.

Too much Ca, Cl, or ammonium nitrogen can lock out Mg and cause this or it could be a legitimate lack of Mg in the feeding. Be careful because too much Mg will lock out other nutes. If you have been feeding Mg, I would suggest you clear the salts with 3 gallons of water per gallon of pot. (3 gallon pot = 9 gallons of water). Measure the difference between the pure water going in and the drain water coming out. When you are within 50 ppm, the pot has been flushed and you can resume normal feeding again.

1 tablespoon for each gallon of water is about perfect. You can also foliar feed them with a lighter mix but I never suggest foliar feeding once the buds have developed. You are only asing for rot and mold to come on.

Back when I was getting some serious nute lockout/buildup, I used about 1/2 tsp per 2 gallons. But I was also using like 2x the amount of NPK Nutes.
So maybe I'll try 1/8 tsp epsom per gallon. Or maybe do that every other watering?

Double nutes is double trouble. When using soil, less is more until you have several runs of the same. This run is far from dialed in. Perhaps think about using more water during your cycle. Salts are mean. In my opinion you should flush the pots and see what your readings are from the bottom. You could very well have locked the MG out. The easiest way to measure soil watering is 25%. If you pour in 1 gallon, you should see 1 quart of runoff. This is a minimum.

It is hard to diagnose this because your feeding is all over the place. You need a flush in my opinion. Write out a feeding schedule until you know what the plants need.
