Sorry for my ignorance but it has been 30 years since I grew anything. This past spring I got the bug to grow it again and I asked my daughter if she could get me some seeds. Didn't get the seedlings into the ground till June. Live in northern IL and this summer has been very cool. Last week the plant was only 30 inches high but I noticed pistils. So now I have a flowering plant, with nice buds developing.

When I grew years ago I would have to cover the plants to reduce the photo period to get them to flower, but this one plant flowered on it's own and it is only late August. Is this common with todays seeds?

I started late too, popped my seeds in early June. I live in PA and three of 4 females are just starting to flower, all males have been pulled. So I think you are right on time to be honest...Good Luck!

outdoor plants start flowering in mid to late august. if your plant is older than a month and is outdoors right now it should be flowering.

strain is a big factor. Not all marijuana needs 12/12 to flower. I'm just talking short day plants.
