Moved to Michigan. Wait 30 days to get card, or no. Couple Q's also.

Hey all.

So I moved to Northern Michigan (UP), got a house, and a michigan ID.
I'm wondering whether I should wait 30 days to apply for my card, or just go see Doc. Bob right away.
People have their opinions of Doc. Bob, but I like the fact that I can reach him here with any concerns and have an undisputed bonafied doctor relationship.

I remember reading in the Michigan law that anyone in michigan for under 30 days is considered a visitor or something to that affect.
I don't want to waste my time, or deal with the headache of having my registration sent back.
I'm guessing it's probably a good idea just to wait at least the 30 days before sending in my stuff.

Also, I've read that quite a few applications get sent back due to being incomplete.

I was wondering if if the clinics help you fill all that out, of if it's just kind of an on your own thing.
I just want things to go smoothly so I can be back up and growing safely as soon as possible.

Anything I should be on the lookout for? Any tips, warnings, or whatever welcome.

Thanks.
Tav

Dr. Bob is a good bet and you should see him right away. After all, once he signs off that he has made medical statement, any and all of the caregivers you designate are protected under either the registration requirements of sec. 4 or under the Affirmative Defense found in sec. 8, and Dr. Bob offers to testify in court regarding his patient's, and subsequently any and all of their designated caregivers, under either sec. 4 of the law or under sec. 8., to establish that the amount in possession is within the limits of the Affirmative Defense as a part of his service, which can be found in sec. 8 of the law.

This can be a little complicated, and if you find that so please feel free to ask any questions.

Come on now folks , lets give him a warm Michigan welcome without and slander towards the Doc .. I do believe us regulars already know your dislikes and thoughts on Dr Bob ! Further derogative action is unnecessary . My thoughts though is you are a citizen of Michigan now and are entitled to state rights from ID , Welfare as well as medical cannabis .. 30 days maybe if your an illegal immigrant lol

ya some states have a "bonafide" resident clause
like La you have to reside for so long even after the id swap the easiest way out here is to do your taxes its a immediate swap on residency

Thanks all for the warm welcome, and advice.
I must say, it's a bit of culture shock being in a legal medical state.

Bring a shovel and wear good boots and thick skin and you'll be alright. Lots of really admirable folks in here and some not so much
