Question about seed strains

So I always wonder, when you guys say you are growing like 4 or 5 dif strains, do y'all just buy the seeds online or are y'all mostly just bumming seeds off of friends? I'd like to, but on most of the sites I've been, they offer like 15 seeds for x amount, which is just too much for me lol if they were to give out maybe 5 for a fraction of the price, I'd totally be down to try out a few strains.

Most breeders I've seen do a 5-6 pack or and a 10.. then you can do pick and mix and get singles..you also usually get freebies

No I've never ordered seeds (I'm about to order some bodhi gear this weekend, first time ever:) ) I get me beans from people I know or Mexican brick.. I prefer heavy sativas. I have a lot of crazy landrace sativas going sourced from Columbia and mexi brick also gifted from people in that area.. you gotta sort through but theirs some fire to be found (though mine all flower about 20 weeks)

I've never bought seeds but a friend gave me some this year. I like clones. Here in Cali they're cheap and plentiful in the spring.

Do it... attitude seems to be getting seized coming through u.s customs but many have good experiences, I'm gonna use them. Not too many carry bodhi it seems.... but anyway they have single seeds for just under 10 bucks, some are a bit more pricey but a good way to get lots of genetics. A lot of breeders also do like an outddor or indoor mix or a haze mix ect throwing in different beans of similar type

Herbies Pick n Mix is great for single seeds. But like Big B said clones are plentiful in Ca. I get all the clones I want for free, but I do buy a few single seeds always looking for that "special" strain.

You are well served in buying some quality seeds, IMO it is the most important variable in a grow.

your payin for genetics, it takes yrs sometimes to come up with certain crosses, the price you pay is minimal to the resulting product

theres a lot of awesome shit on that attitude site. Im wanting to grow some white widow next grow, so i might buy 2 or 3 seeds of that and stick with the PPP for the rest. Im thinking 4 seeds in the ground, then takes some clones and those will end up in some 5 gallon bags, maybe 4-6 clones. Man thatl be so fun lol

Every elite clone started as a seed at some point, the next seed you start could be the next greatest strain going around!

I grow strictly bag weed seeds because it's illegal to get them down here, so it's kind of a hassle to get 'em, and because of inflation (dollar$ and €uros are expensive, my weak ass currency is no match) seeds are 8 to 10 times more expensive.

Now, in the world of bag weed, there's a lot of variables. For instance, in my particular context, said weed is grown in the western region of the country, which is characterized by having a particularly fertile soil, cool temps at night and warm sunny days. Rumor has it, it's a group of gringos who grow it, and by the varieties I've seen, they don't grow the same strain over and over. Maybe they do get to order some seeds, maybe not. I just know I've grown some fantastic indicas, whenever I'm lucky enough to fin a seed or two. Some other bag weed is grown indoors by some stealthy (and rich sometimes) d00ds, that really do grow some bomb shit. Now this weed rarely comes seeded, but when it does, they go into the ground at once.

I do however, make my own "crossings" whenever I'm low on seeds. In fact, I've been kind of "working" on one I got from crossing two different indicas, and the resulting plants got crossed later on with a male sativa I couldn't remove in time. That happened over a 2 year period. Last year, and the year before, I grew some of the resulting seeds from that final cross, getting pretty similar results each time.

Here's a low res pic of the last one I grew. Smelled and tasted kinda earthy, smoking it made you feel like lazing out all day.

What is bag weed? I've heard the term a lot, just dont know what it means. So would it be a bad idea to buy weed from that website?

do you buy the clones or do you just get them from friends?? i dont really know much about clones lol
Both. I have some friends who grow indoors who will kick down a few clones and you can also buy them at dispensaries. Lots of people sell them of Craigslist too. I've heard that selling them of Craigslist is illegal but I've bought some without having any problems.

I have to branch out beyond my friends for some variety. They all grow OG kush and nothing else.
