The worst law ever passed?

It occurred to me as I read this article earlier today, these guys may very well be correct.

I cannot think of any other legislation nearly as foolish and misbegotten.

ObamaCare may very well be the worst law ever passed by the federal government in the history of the U.S. The public didn't want it in the first place — going so far as to elect a Republican senator in solidly Democratic Massachusetts to try to stop it — and they've hated it ever since.

It may be the perception of people in general that it is "the worst law ever passed", but we can't know until it actually goes into effect if it is such a bad law or not. I find it hard to believe that those who can now get insurance where before they were denied will call it a bad law.

They like the benefits of the law but don't like the mandate. The same people were screaming for government to get their hands off medicare...

I didn't like the law because I support single payer healthcare but I think it was a pragmatic step. We basically adopted Swiss universal healthcare...well if the republican states didn't reject medicaid enrollment but that's just the poverty pimps staying true to course.

Some of us will no doubt benefit from the ACA.... the tiny minority of people with pre-existing conditions will be happy.
But anyway you slice it, it seems obvious that at this juncture, the majority of Americans are going to end up paying quite a bit more for this Affordable Care Act.

This is contrary to what we were told before enactment.

That depends upon the coverage they originally got. There are some sketchy plans out there that will no longer be legal to offer, that may raise the rates for some. As far as your projection that only a small portion of the population have pre-existing conditions, well I there may be more out there than you think. until then, we really don't know how much all this will cost the individual.

You may be correct. Only in the fullness of time will we know with any certainty.

Regardless, it is most unfortunate that this has morphed into a titanic political tug of war.

And keep in mind that there was not ONE Repub vote...unprecedented...hence this death grudge match.

Tsk, tsk.

Romper Room.

quite a few people will be paying less, actually.

if you ask people about what's actually in the PPACA, they like the individual components. but whiny ass cry babies have whined so loudly and cried for so long that the PPACA overall does not poll as well as everything within it.

ya think the millions of people getting rebate checks from their insurance companies are sending them back, or cashing them?

i don't think you are using "unprecedented" correctly.

in fact, i'm sure of it.

this wasn't the first time under obama that the GOP voted against their own idea, it wasn't the last either.

stop crying, you crybaby.

43% Support it
54% Oppose it
But half those 54% that oppose it Think It doesnt go far enough

I don't know why a vet can cut a dog open and rip out it's reproductive parts with near 100% survivability for around $100 while I can't get a md to write me an rx for a soar throat for the same price. Obamacare does little to address cost as far as I know. It will never be able to be repealed now. I think it's going to make things more fucked up. I say bring on single payer.

Had several dogs fixed. Males are cheaper. Never paid more than $150 for a female.
my vet will do them for $40 if you can prove financial hardship or the dog was a special rescue. that doesn't mean that's what it actually costs, there are just a lot of positive externalities that come with fixing your animals.
