Hes talking about the happy frog soil conditioner, the big yellow bales I believe? It comes in a big yellow bale with red lettering... I bought a couple bales of it and its not exactly a good mix... I used some mixed with perlite and some amendments on one of my plants in a 7gal smart pot recently and my plants arent liking it... Its definitely not well suited for container gardening... I was using it mixed with other soil-less mixes and amendments, perlite etc... and it wasnt bad but alone with amendments and perlite my plants didnt fill out the pots with roots well, after more than a month that one plant still isnt really doing as well as my other plants in the same containers with a different soil mixture (roots, amendments etc...) that were transplanted a couple weeks after that one, the others have passed that one in size already...
I'd say if your gonna use it, use it to stretch another soil mix out rather than using it as your base... If you already have it, mix it with another soil like ocean forest or regular happy frog (brown bag) in a 1/1 ratio... 1 of those 3cf bales mix to 2 bags of ocean forest.... add some perlite and some more worm castings/compost along with some lime, and whatever other amendments you plan on adding should be a good mix to start with.... I really cant suggest using it on its own unless your going to add it to your outdoor garden to condition the soil thats already there which is what this product is intended to do....
