First real grow FINALLY!!! all advice welcome

Yeah stealth is mine because my sister is a junkie and children youth took her kids so now we got them in the house. I had just harvested when that happened so when they came out to look at the house, everything was down... Now I'm going again and they been in since then and never even went in the room that's got the closet with the grow in it. I'm not worried as long as I'm not panicking I don't think they will think anything either. No one knows but me and my mom. She's cool with it, she smokes too.... But my other family doesn't. And I'm keeping it that way...

Yeah man no doubt. Silence is the key... Only evidence I got is a blacked out window with panda film and a ac in a closet lol which from the outside u don't even know its a closet. We don't get trash service because I live in th sticks so we burn all our trash so no evidence there either. I do get stuff sent to m though... If I'm not being tracked by cops I don't think there is anything to worry about there either its just grow supplies no seeds I use bagseeds still because I don't like the idea or customs lol

Nice! How have your harvests been with bag seed? You using them from reggie? Or high grade packs?

Its from mid grade. They have been alright but I'm sure they could get better. Usually a ounce or 2 per plant. Hopefully that will go up with this new 600w. But the damn thing doesn't turn on all the time either the bulb, ballast ,or timer...

Thats good have they each been significantly different strain wise? Indica or sativa dominants? But that ballast problem sounds whack I hope you figure it out but in the mean time just keep vegging I guess

I just unplug and plug it back in and it fires up.. I think its th cheap ass ipower bulb doesn't like the phantom ballast.if it was my ballast no lights would light up... Bt I get the standby code.. So either bulb or timer. I'm going to get a ushio bulb next time they emite 97k lumens which is 12k more then my ipower bulb... That's almost as much as a 150w hps... Yield will make a difference that's for sure. If it was my timer I would think that the standby code wouldn't happen because the timer wouldn't turn the ballast on.. So we're back to the bulb... It just isn't igniting all the time aggravates me .

It does man.... Pisses me off.. I don't know what the problem is but they are brand new bulbs. I did read somewhere phantoms are picky with the lamps so I'm prolly going to need a 65 dollar ushio bulb

Yea ive got a lumatek and it says works best with lumatek bulbs ofcourse but ive got a 60$ bulb in there dont remember the brand tho. not sure I've heard of intermatic timers

are there any lights on your ballast? I had the same problem with the first ballast I had but the light would shut off within minutes, it was te ballast that was the problem I took it back to the hydro shop and they replaced it with the lumatek I think it was a hortilux I don't remember tho

Yea, its a hydrofarm phantom ballast. When it first turns on (normally) it ignites the bulb fires up and it blinks the warm up code for 15 minutes. After that th lights are solid green.
when it screws up, it blinks the standby code... When I unplug and plug back in, it works correctly.

it could be the ballast you have a hydro store around you? If so ask then to test it with another hood and bulb

Ok guys so today I switched to 12/12 for sexing, I also immediately changed to hps bulb so 6am eastern time today they're gonna have their first experience with hps and 12hr day. Depending on how much they stretch within the time they show sex will determine if I switch back to veg or just let them ride it out and go full bloom. I'm hoping they gain some mass these next 2 weeks especially since I put the makeshift scrog in. Tell me what you guys think will happen

So I have never done a scrog before but I will be doing it next time I grow. Ummm I would take the scrog down. I think that your rushing them a bit. I would wait to put your scrog up for another week or maybe even two. What are your plant heights and internodal spacing? I would let them get about 10-12 inches tall before you scrog. I would then put the scrog up and make sure it's about an inch or two above your plants. Let them grow into the scrog. Help them a little bit but don't pull them or try stretching them through the screen. They also look a little yellow to me? Maybe it's just the picture? What are your temps, ph lvls, ppm, stuff like that? Over all it looks good. You have waited 5 years to dive in, don't rush it now. Veg for 4 weeks and then flower untill there done. And trust me you can tell when there done.

Another think to consider is what are you planning on doing with your finished product. Smoke, butter, oil, wax, vap? They are some thing to take into consideration while your plants are growing. How you intake your product can have an affect on when to harvest. Also if you have never dried or cured before you need to read up on that. It can make the world of difference on smoke quality.

Over all it looks good. Biggest thing is that you have started. Now it will just take time to tweak your set up and style to get what you like.

thanks for the advice I definately took all but 2 scrogs off they look like they're doing good an I just want to experiment and see what happens with them. They're about 8-10 inches tall sizes vary per plant. I plan to smoke my harvest only, on this side of the country we not up on the bho wave too hard yet . Thanks again man

Looks good. Mine keep bleaching from the light being so close. It's now 15 inches from tops. Lets see how that works. When I had my 400w, I had it basically on top of the plants like a CFL without problems. I had 4 males I got 8 left to sex.
