If it were me? I'm using FF soil exactly as it is. They damn well know what they are doing.perilte is perilite.....no nutes in it...at least there shouldnt be...perilite is simply a grow medium that aids in airation and drainage....there is a thread on here about a group of people that grow in nothing but 5 gallon buckets full of perilite with a drainage hole at the base of the bucket...look for the hempy collective...anyway....perilite really aids in giving your roots oxygen
Most perlite is just 100% plain perlite.so should i even put perlite in the ocean forest??? and u said scotts in the same as miracle gro? so other perlite would have no nutes?
Get the "FOXFARM BIG AND CHUNKY" and use 1/2 soil/1/2 perlite---You will have to feed and water more often, but your roots and plants will develop faster-The best results in soil come from lite fast draining mediums---It will promote more oxygen to the root zone as someone said in earlier post-----+reps to them.ok so i finally got sum fox farm ocean forest the big bag the 1.5 cu ft how much perlite should i put in? is there any almost exact amount or just does more perlite mean better drainage i got to figure this out quick before i repot
The OCEAN FORREST is one of the best soils-I use it all the time--I add alot of their BIG CHUNK perlite to it and get better results faster than without the added perlite. +reps to youIf it were me? I'm using FF soil exactly as it is. They damn well know what they are doing.
Believe it or not, but Miracle-Gro does jam nutes into perlite. Those bastards are nute crazy. Anyways, to the OP read the bag. Scott's is the same as Miracle-Gro and they infuse nutes into the perlite.
