You know why criminals have guns? Because they can buy them in any backward state that requires hardly any proof that you are not a criminal or insane to purchase one. So in essence the gun laws that are so opposed by the NRA, actually allow criminals to legally purchase them. Makes a lot of sense, right? So when I hear that only criminals will have guns if there are restrictions placed on them, I find that argument to be ridiculous seeing as most guns used in crimes had been legally purchased because of lax gun laws. Arms are not specific to firearms however, shooting well and safely seem like good ideas still. Ak-47s are not making anybody safer....in the military, countries love those precision killers. There is a distinction between weapons of war and those for the needs people say they buy guns for i.e. protection, hunting, suicide. The things I can't have in my house I deal with...I am not sure that I am being heard. People can earn the right by proving it to the community.
