Sounds illegal to me.. The Supreme Court ruled a few months back, that a dog sniffing around your house without a warrant, means squat on it's own even if it hits. Make sure this is even going to happen, then ask where their warrant is. You can't just randomly sniff around hoping for a hit (I mean they do, but it is illegal).

They're bringing the K9 unit to YOUR HOUSE specifically, or your neighborhood? Kind of a big difference, but make sure to take your weed out the back in the middle of the night and clear our everything illegal out of your house... Then you have nothing to worry about but at the same time... maybe just put it in your trunk since maybe their trying to lure you out in your car so they can pull you over? Damn I'm paranoid :P

100% agree with a full abort. Cut your losses and move on. You won't get back in the swing of things any quicker in jail.

Edit: Don't listen to the retards on here, like the guy above. If they are truly bringing a dog, DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING ILLEGAL WITH SCENT ON YOU OR YOUR PROPERTY. PERIOD.

Get rid of everything and put it somewhere safe and away, sweep, vacuum, light some candles and spray some febreeze.

Well if your in the US this is illegal and the supreme court recently made a ruling on this. They can not allow a dog onto the property to sniff of evidence from within the residence. If they do make sure you film it for your case. It was decided this is in the same grounds as illegal search to obtain a warrant that later leads to an arrest. Not to say they won't do this try to charge you and arrest you costing you lots of money time and possible jail while fighting it. After it is over you can sue and win but it's gonna cost up front. Here is a link to the court ruling and its definition. I wouldn't keep the grow there as if you bring this up your going to be someone they watch for awhile out of anger waiting for a slip up. I would contact a lawyer before it happens with all info you know. Why they would tell you when is weird unless they believe they already have something on you and want to see if you get fidgety and make a mistake.

So I'm a retard because I'd say it's pretty dangerous to leave with a car FULL of illegal drugs when they have your house tagged for future K9 sniffing.... Yeah ok bud.

I was probably the retard he meant by saying I would sprinkle grass all over the front and the neighbors yard.. Of course this must make me a retard in real life, because for years I like to toss a bit of weed around and under K-9 cars (clearly marked) when I pass by them or they are parked in the lot.. been one of my hobbies ever since they trained dogs at the resort I worked at and I would go out in the mornings and scatter grass all over the place like it was Easter or something..

Call me a retard I don't mind.. we all get out kicks in weird ways,,

I think that the landlord can give consent.
Not in any state I know of.. most states require 48 (some 24) hours notice just to enter.

But this is YOUR place to live, you rent it, and it comes with rights not even your landlord can relinquish. Landlord can allow dogs on to the general property, but they can't go door to door smelling around for kicks.

Don't get me wrong though.. what they legally CAN do, and what they DO do, are often two different things. Some backwards states don't care if they will lose in court, if it fucks with your time in between.

well, ol barry, the never get busted guy says to rub some weed in your hands then go rub all over every door, cabinet anywhere you can and that dogs will smell the trace residue everywhere and the false positives will make em give up and leave.

but that's barry.. my guess is barry would agree with 333maxwell and sprinkle all around your apartment building outside. think the general idea is to overwhelm the dogs senses.

Are you not advocating here at first to "take his weed out back in the middle of the night and clear out everything illegal" and then not turning around saying the exact opposite which is that he keep it in his car, as is bolded?

You are indeed the retard I am referring to.

You didn't say that above, bud.

You wasted so much of your time typing this. Nothing to do with you. I get humor.

My advice 2 you would be to start by getting ahold of a family member that doesn't mind "trees", and make a "deal" with them! Maybe half the crop if they'll stash your plants for a few days or so.! Atleast long enough 4 you to stash um, clean your house up super good, including take down & store "somewhere" else your grow equipment!!
* YOU NEED 2 BE ON THIS * like yesterday. I hate to see anyone get busted, atleast of all for some harmless tree!!

Police don't usually give notice of a raid, it would defeat the object of the exercise, I would question the source and the integrity of the information then decide how paranoid you need to be.
It's all very well asking for opinions but its your loss so perhaps it should be your judgement.
How much do you value your crop versus how much you value your freedom.
Once the first point is weighed up, the rest is a logical progression.
