i just stated my very first plant. i didnt germinate it but it already has a sprout coming out i have it in my window seal i dont know what to do really need sum pointers please i dont have lights or any money to get any just kinda trying it out to see if i can grow. i am just watering it with tap water is it going to make it? i really hope so please if any1 could give me some pointers would be greatly appreciated thank u.

You don't have any old lamps and cfl bulbs around the house? That's how I started. I bought some cheap incandescents and swapped out bulbs around the house. I found an old fan in someone's garbage and I was in business. People throw out old lamps a lot too. Anyway, lot's of info on this site and you will get a lot of different opinions on how to grow "right."

welcome, ur gonna have a ball. read all the stickies, those are at the beginning of each catagory. these are from the pros and all u will need to know are their. u gotta read ur ass off, we all had to do it so sacrifice my man.
at this point keep ur girl under a cfl light (desk lamp will do) till u learn more. water about every other day. ur off an runnin. good luck

24/0 grows faster quicker as theres more light but higher electricty bill most people use this but some argue that is too much to make a plant constantly "working" as its not natural
18/6 is what MOST people use as the plant has 6 hours of "sleep" which creates more of a sunlight/moonlight atmosphere typical to real plants outside
12/12 is for people who want to sex straight from plant and skip the entire vegging stage

You can leave it on 24 hours while vegging. Or you could have a short dark period. Just make sure you keep the same a mount of time on and off once you decide. If you don't have a timer it is best to leave on 24 hours. Unless you can turn it of and on the same time every day. If you keep changing the photoperiod you will stress your plants.

i never used a timer, i make it 18/6 when i was typically home, set an alaram on my celly everyday

yes , it should be fine just be careful dont put too much light too quick , like try 1 or 2 cfls , little ones are weaker and i find they get upset from switching to sunlight ina window to 24/0 of massive amounts of cfls

i used to help my cuzin but he had the hole setup lights n nuts for them is tap water not good to use he used to ph the water i know the ph should be around 71 or 72 i think idk what is cuming out the tap dont have a kit

just be careful with electrical in there, move out any clothes or anything that can catch fire and dont mist near electrical outlits
