is the moon a light leak?

If the plants have been outside their whole cycle, the moon wont effect them at all, even in flower. It weird but outdoors are very resistant to moonlight. Plants outside have such variances in light because of the randomness of sunlight. Some days gtow super dark at noon because of a storm or heavy dark cloud making it almost complete darkness for up to an hour anf right back to sunlight. Any natural light is ok. Its street lights, porch lights and even flashlights that are able to disrupt a plants dark cycle. If anything the moon is a natural "green" light

No it was the same size it always is. The moon didn't move closer and get bigger, it may have been a bit brighter, but that's it.

And no, the moon loght is not enough lumens to affect plant growth.
It was less shadowed from their vantage point. It was not brighter, it reflected the same amount of sunlight it reflected the day and the night before.

And no, the sunlight reflected by the moon will not hinder your favorite crop.

very funny thread... interesting question.

If light leaks cause hermies, why aren't all the outdoor plants hermies?

Love the huge moon comment.

And since when is the moonlight GREEN? lmao

Ive read the moon does have something to do with growth. When the moon is waxing (getting bigger) the plant and buds grow more. and when the moon is getting smaller (waning) the plant focuses on growing the root system more than uptop, or vice versa. Ive never tested the theory but I guess it seems legit.

You have it correct bud nugbong, I have been a believer in doing my gardening and farming by the moon since my grandpa since started teaching me as a child. If you were to take note of when your plants have their little bursts of flowering and adding growth it usually peaks in the second quarter. Pruning and cloning I do with the moon also, taking your cuttings in the waning moon will produce faster, stronger roots, pruning in this phase also will give you a lusher growth. Pruning or pinching done in the waxing moon tends to retard growth..........but this is just me and there are many nonbelievers in the world today.

So your telling me its ok to take my pants off, bend over, stick my head upside down between my legs and walk into the grow room backwards in the dark periods of 12/12 to check on my girls if necessary? Cool!!!but wouldn't my balls pollinate the girls and cause it to Hermie's?

I have posted this before I will post it again. I grew two plants in my bedroom flowerd them at 12/12, and i cant fall asleep without my tv on. those bitches put up with my tv on well after the dark cycle, witch ended at 10pm, sometimes my 55' plasma was on all night, they never missed a beat. I could see their shadows. They were ten feet away. They did fine.

You have to consider the ratio of daylight to moonlight lux (lumen per square meter). Full sun can be something like 30,000 - 100,000 lux. 'Normal' or filtered daylight on a cloudy day can still be as bright as 10,000 lux or more.

The brightest moonlight is generally not more than 1 lux.

Meh..... Its a weed! Out door growing does not control light like indoor growing yet the plants still produce like they should. My rooms have never been totally light proof and I have great results! Myth.... that is my understanding!! there are many things that will cause a hermed plant. I truly believe people over think this plant to a point of making money's off of magic crap that does nothing but stress the "weed". It's a frikin weed!!!! Give it soil full of nutrients and clear water with some light and it will grow just fine!!

I have been using the same soil for well over a year. I re-amend it after every use and do not add any bottled crap to my water. I grow some of the cheapest weed in the country and everyone want's it!! Take the time to learn what the plant needs. Trust me, it does not come in a bottle!!! Bottles are a quick fix for a bad environment.

The more light you give it the better! They love's the light!!!

Technically, perhaps. Basically, no. Indoors, you want your flower room as dark as it can be for the night cycle; but you may allow as much light as a pale moon and it won't cause any issues. I've had light leaks for two years and I don't have herm issues.
