Note to all:.............Mite Update.

Against the wishes of all.. I went anyway.
Garden was clean...................................*scratches head* WTF?
Even the outdoor plants were healthy and pest free.
Talked to a few friends and thinking it was maybe a possible animal transfer from a dog...
the plant was outside the tent for 2 days. inside the room just out of the tent.

I checked every single inch of every single plant, with wide eyes, confused as fuck......
I know my garden is clean. I check that shit daily..
The lone plant with mites. That makes absolutely no sense to me.....
Right?
Some plants are more resistant to mites, some less, just like molds. But they literally materialise out of thin bloody air I swear to gods. I hate spidermites.

How am i fucked? He doesn't have mites. I don't have mites.
They were picked up in between somehow.
They either jumped off a dog, or brushed up against a bush outside when moving it to or from the car.
It was NOT boxed up in transit. and had a dog sitting with it in the backseat.

I have looked over all 43 plants that i have. with a microscope. i have nothing. not even thrips left.
I never had mites. and don't plan to start now.
I followed the advise of Dank and changed my clothes before going back into my tent.
Also ordered a pint of Ladybugs for the tent. and i plan to release all 9000 at the same time. :)

Pour a little soda pop on them, place them in the refrigerator for a bit and do it with the lights off.
But you knew that...

Yeah i found this on some random wiki site

  • Always release ladybugs in the evening because they will not fly at night and are less active when it's cooler.

  • Spray a 1:1 solution of water & clear soda pop on the ladybugs just prior to release. The sugar will cause the ladybugs' wings to stick together for a few days, preventing them from flying away. During this time the females should start laying eggs in your garden, and because ladybugs are territorial, those that hatch in your garden will call it home.

thats fucking cool dude. that way u shouldnt have to buy more ull have a steady flow of them ladybugs in ur tent.
2 questions. how do u erradicate them if /when u want to. and when they start flying wont they fly out the tent
into ur crib? lol curious cuz i imagine ill have to let some lady bugs in my tent sooner then later also lol

Well. the soda is to keep them from flying the first few days. Ladybugs can lay up to 50 eggs per day. with 9000 ladybugs, that's alot of future one to take their place. :)

When I want them gone. i didn't really think much of it. I have a closed room where my tent is located. i guess i can just open the windows for a few days. but i don't see a point to getting rid of them at all. lol...... I have all sorts of moths and flys coming in my house everynight of the week. I have so many screens to fix. lol... My cats will go nuts. they LOVE ladybugs. lol

Sorry dude,I thought you spotted a mite.If you saw one mite, there are many.Have you seen how many they multiply by during their 21 day life cycle? They will chill out until the second half of 12/12 sometimes.Ladybugs aren't that effective.Preditor mites work lots better and don't try to escape. They also breed.Neither will cure an infestation w/o help from some serious sprays
I had mites bad and wish that on nobody

I spotted a mite on a plant that was not introduced to the garden. It was brought over, inspected, boxed up and tossed outside.

I saw a few affected leaves but only scoped a pic of one cause i started getting itchy. lol

But it wasn't until after that i found out about the outside of the tent for 2 days and dogs being involved. they could have easily carried one or 2 into or around the area the plant was located.(not with the rest of them).

Gonna get some Quantum Apocalypse for a backup plan.
Ladybugs i bought are for thrip larvae. I'm trying to 100% rid my garden of them fuckers.
they are about 90% gone at the moment. but I don't wanna fuck up my beautiful garden. lol

ya between dogs, neighbors, wind,co workers and mother nature those little mfrs find their way.I look around my yard and feel the wind blow off my compost pile and wonder how many mites are in the pile or in the breeze.I've been OCD about it for awhile now.I close my eyes and see them:wall:

Well i really appreciate the concern for my garden.
I feel safe. i have scoured the garden for days. every plant.
all i see are a few thrip larvae here and there. nothing mite related though. no mites or mite eggs anywhere.

I'll be sure to update you if they do appear in my garden, and return for the "I Told You So!" :)

Those zombie gnomes are wicked cool.

I tracked those down to Etsy.

http://www.etsy.com/shop/revenantfx

$60 each but great quality.
I saw those. they have the full set for like $160

Also have a cool looking one on ebay. search Crawing Zombie Gnome. it's only $35 or something.

The main one in his picture i was interested in was the crawler. I can't find him yet lol........
I found this one for like, $120.. pretty cool..
