Proper spelling, grammar and use of your native language is a sign of intelligence. I like to think I'm a fairly intelligent person so I spell/use correct grammar like I finished elementary school.

Not to mention that speaking and writing with correct grammar are essential to persuasion, respect (for yourself and others), and the correct use of rhetoric. Personally, if I pose a question such as "how many ppm's are good for a soil grow?" I wouldn't take an answer into consideration if someone said, "yeah dawg jus go and put tha lil probe in the wata an if it go to 5hunna then thas about rite." To me, that is extremely disrespectful as I have taken the time out to type a thoughtful question and expect an answer which has knowledgeable background. Now, this isn't to say you can't switch your rhetoric (the way you speak or write to a certain audience to get a certain type of answer) with your friends. Take for example, your friends have taken your car key s and you need to run to the store. More than likely you'll say "Come on, give me my fucking keys fags!" To them, this is not disrespectful because they're your buddies right? Now, you wouldn't go and say, "Give me back my fucking bitch" to your grandma if she had done the same thing? No. Take time to examine your audience's expectations and goals. We're here to learn, not to read things that in my opinion make no sense.
