Could have interesting legal connotations....

"It wasn't me that shot him, that was my old body; I just had a head transplant!"

Is it the memories that make you, you or is it your physical self?

Wouldn't your brain have memories even though you are on another body? Therefore, you'd be the head and why would you need to have a head transplant in the first place? It's REALLY a BODY transplant..IMO

That is a good point. This reminds of robocop, when they take the bad guy and put is brain/spinal cord into the machine. Gives me the creeps man. Imagine looking at your old body. Here is another thought, just from a guy's aspect. Let's say you are "gifted" downstairs, how pissed would you be if your body transplant was the complete opposite? HAHAHA. That's just what I thought personally.

I'm not sure if 'you' are your head.

What about your fingerprints or DNA? It seems somewhat trivial, but it would certainly make for some interesting court cases!

I think there have been Sci-Fi flicks made with that theme... except Body B was from a killer, but when Head A was put on it, he developed murderous desires.
Or maybe it was a heart transplant? I don't know... there are so many cheezy B-movies...

We already have hand transplants and bone marrow transplants capable of throwing up those problems

an Alaska case in which a man was linked to an attack, based on DNA obtained with blood tests, but had been in jail at the time.It transpired the sex attack had been carried out by his brother, who had donated bone marrow to his sibling in a transplant some years earlier.

I don't think any company that brought agent orange into the world..... should be responsible for any marijuana let alone most of the worlds food supply/seeds

This is still too freaky to me. Personally, let me DIE. I DO NOT want someone elses body. Just not my style. Although I do ponder if I could play guitar with another body or if that is more muscle memory than brain memory?

Heh, I hadn't considered hand transplants and bone marrow. Cool article, thanks man!

We discussed the idea of what makes you, you in great detail in one of the Philosophy classes I took back in University. Is it your memories? If that's the case, an exact copy of you is as much you, as you are.
