Autoflower switch to flower!

Hey there! I'm pretty new to auto's so in need of advice. So i have two girlies going on, and they're ready to go into flower. I had T5 for veg, and just received 250w dual spectrum HPS. For Veg i had them running at 18/6..I'm switching to HPS tomorrow, and wondering if i could do 14/8 or 12/12 for flower? Electricity bills is my big issue. So i need an advice from you guys. Would yield be noticeably smaller if i run em at 12/12 over 18/6 for flower? Thanks a lot an CHeeRS !!bongsmilie

yes, it will be. autos have a finite life they need as much light as possible for best results. you can you use 12/12 but you will get less bud. 24/0 or 20/4 are the "standard" lighting schedules for autos. breeders typically recommend 20/4

like the guy above said most of them can be a 24/0 run some others tho like ultra lemon haze like a 16/8 and a 90 days grows

how big is your t5 ?
if its like a 4 bulb 4'
you could run the hps for 6-8 hours a day and run the t5 the rest of the time

i run led's 24/7 have a 400w that comes on for 12 hours at night
and cfl's i can turn on during the day if i need them
i do this for temps
it may be helpful in your situation
give them whatever light you can afford just dont bash auto's when your yield isnt the best

Hey, thanks for such a quick reply it's probably the oldest strain there is :) Auto #1, My T5 are 100w total so i think it could be an option to run them instead of a dark period. Or i could possibly leave HPS for 18/6 and hope my bud will pay for bills  I will post some pics in a few minutes ;)

Thanks for the Wisdom!

Mine is a Blimburn Feminised Northern Lights.
Should that run at 20/4??
Anybody grown this?
It is the only Auto I have it was a freebie with an order from single seed.

ok here are some pics, i noticed some issues too, new leaves are tipping down..it wasn't like that earlier in the day. Could it be a low temp? cuz at evening/night time it goes down to around 60F, day time 70F, IMG_4638.jpgIMG_4637.jpg

Oh and i got them from attitude seedbank

Ok so i just figured they get too much heat to the top leaves and it sucks out moisture out of them. So i figured i'll put a fan closer to the top, that way it won't get that hot at the top and cold at the bottom..will update tomorrow if there are any changes. in the main time any ideas or advices would be helpful ;) peace

Found it at Blimburn.com, it's listed in Autos as a cross with NL and Ruderalis.

My hand feels nicely warm, now what?:wall:
:)) wouldn't say it's too hot there, but it could be a temperature difference at the bottom of the plants and at the top, it could be +-7F, and no way to even the heat out, they're in the attic..

just from googling around and looking at NL grows, they tend to be larger plants, I would go 24/0 if it were me. That said, I have not personally grown an NL yet, not till mah beans get in that is :) (I got an NL blue from Delicious on the way)

Unless you have a major reason not to go 24/0, I would say just do 24/0. I do sometimes switch off part of my lights if needed. If power or heat is a concern, just run full strength 18 hours and maybe go 6 with 50% lights or something of that sort.

looks like a nice plant btw. Ironic that it's listed as 90-120 cm and it's a lowryder cross. lol

not to hot .......back it off 1 to 2 inches and u should be set for the next little spurt ..............keep checking or train the plant
