Won't last long and neither will bitcoin.
don't see why you would say that. i don't see an end coming up any time soon.
after all the press this year it wont. didnt another similar one get taken down this week also?
silk road was announced publicly by DPR on the bitcoin forums, that's why it is so well known. silk road was never meant to be private in the long-run. all the press does is make silk road more of a success.

Drugs have been sold on the internet since its inception. Silk Road is nothing new or unique. Web forums like RIU is where drug dealers have started. You can get steroids at steroid web forums, same thing as anywhere... just get a rep and a little trust and your in. .... but i must say getting a bit coin is no easy task... i would be tempted to just find a trustworthy molly source and try a direct exchange,...if i needed it. SR is a bit if a conundrum to me..... i know a grower that sells to people in texas and back east via mail, met them on the net and developed a trust... its as safe as you are smart i guess

^bitcoin is harder to get nowadays, yes, but i think that is a good thing. if you try hard enough you will figure out ways to obtain your coin easily. to think silk road will be taken down soon though is just stupid imho lol.

Silk Road is solid as can be... I would think the government actually appreciates it's business. I also would submit that while the government appreciates the postal service business it generates and economy stimulation, it would like SR to keep quite as possible. These little news inserts and articles piss off the men upstairs, I would think.

The war on drugs is a massive industry, and it employs many people as well as gets officials elected into office. Now, let us think about the drug war industry: What is the one thing the drug war industry needs the most? Thats right, drugs! Without a steady flow of drugs being distributed, there is no carrot for the drug war machine to chase. The Silk Road is the perfect carrot dispenser, as long as they keep low profile as possible. Then we get nice even flow of drugs which equates to a nice even flow of Drug War Money.

When the pigs infiltrate it, we won't know right away. We'll find out when they do a huge sweep, arresting hundreds of buyers/sellers in one day. Just like they do the pedos.

Tell that to DPR about the interview he did with Forbes' that was quoted in that article. He wants people to know about his marketplace.

Atlantis voluntarily took themselves down.

Like they did with Freedom Hosting. Oh wait they've busted at most a handful of people from that. And they waited a long time so they could try to bug TOR.
the more people logged into tor at one time the more anonymous you become.
provided you aren't being dumb about it. run no script and stay the fuck away from Windows. Tails is really easy to setup and is built to be secure and anonymous.

A massive sweep of hundreds of people? LOl! you realize there are thousands of exchanges daily on SR, right? That would not even be a hiccup in the internet drug world. Silk Road is just a name of a web page, take it away and 10 more take its place the next day. Like I said, the government likes SR. It brings a certain degree of honesty and safety to the drug biz.

I think the Road is a good start to the future of drug distribution. At some point, the servers will be located and pressure will be put on someone to shut them down. What we really need is some sort of distributed peer to peer system with no central command and control to be shut down. Kind of like the difference between napster and bittorrent. Napster was easy to shut down with a court order, with bittorrent they have to shut down every single user.

I'd rather get from proper outlaws that have been hanging onto the secrets of high quality for decades and passed it down into responsible hands thank you. Won't buy a drug on the INTERNET, JESUS. I won't even make a phone call to score. I go visit a person I have built a long-standing relationship with. Face to face, and face to face ONLY.
This shit is SO weird to me. Internet drug distribution, guys REALLY get this lazy about their gear?!?!?!
