Are Poor People Really People?

I just went to the grocery store and down the aisle from me this large (size and number) family was taking up the entire aisle, eating food out of the boxes, bags, etc. I'm pretty conscientious about what I put in my body so I was reading the labels pretty thoroughly, when one of them started choking on something. She looked about 14, but who knows with all the shit kids shove in their face these days. Mom starts squeeling about "help her!" "help her!". I know first aid/CPR but I'm looking at them in their dirty rags and sizing up the cart full of frozen pizza, pop tarts, chips, cookies, case of Mt. Dew, and absent dad's case of PBR. Kids going blue pretty quick, and they're all jumping around like imbiciles, slapping her on the back. I decided not to help beacuse they look like they could use one less mouth to feed, and she was about birthng age, so she's one more welfare lifer off the taxpayer's payroll. Kinda felt like I was at the zoo, so I turned and went back the other way.

Is it just me?

Think its a bit too soon for another epic let's call dyfus thread Clayton.. might want to give people a week or so till they forget about the hookers and tatted up niece .. :)

Clayton, you surprise me. NEXT time have the paperwork ready and a well-rehearsed "sign here". Then, once she's consented to your terms fro becoming unsmurfblue, you split the colossal product-liability award 50/50 with the victim and plaintiff. Fifty million for you, fifty per cent of what's left after legal fees for her.

Sometimes I think it's just me and like 3 other people on here and I have no idea who the other 3 really are, it's like the Truman show meets Multiplicity with Michael Keaton.

Really ! Well, I'm outraged that you didn't turn her in for eating "in store" food.

Good thinking, just like an attorney! I think she was scarfing a pop tart. I feel like if she couldn;t even do the basic things required for human survival, she didn;t deserve to go on. Had I thought there was any money in it, I might have stayed, but they looked like they would have taken the first offer over $100.

I have heard about too many scumbags suing other people after they helped them.

i was thinking this exact same ^^^^ thing for some reason.

i have always been one to help anyone in need and never ask for help unless i absolutely need it.

you also have to look out for the good samaritan act from seinfeld and get caught not helping.

We have lots of families like that in the UK, they live off benefits and eat like kings have all the named fashionable clothing to wear, Tattoo's that are not cheap and have no respect for other peoples property and have serious attitude problems, they think the world owes them something its so frustrating. But its not the kids fault really is it? they don't know any different I was brought up in working class family and I mean working! we had very little and appreciated everything we had, and that's how my family have been brought up they all work they aren't rich and have lavish things but they don't have anything given to them and they don't expect anything unless its been earned. I'm not sure I could walk away from a choking kid though. :o
