Help In Getting MY GDP's Purple.

Ok guys today is the 4th week of flowering of my Granddaddy purps. I saw somewhere that in order to get a nice purple color you have to turn down the temperture (COLDER)?


If that myth is "true" is it time to do that or should I wait until which week?

Right now there is no purple at all, but they are covered well in THC =)

Yep, cooler temps tend to contribute to purpling.

What are you avg. temps?

Mine are around 75-80 and i drop it to about 60 when i want em purple.

but i wouldnt drop it that low til the last week or so because it could slow/stunt growth if you did it too soon.

Well you got room to drop em before they could start slowing growth. But if you really want em purple the last week or so make it as cold as you can.

I got one GDP outside in the 7th week of flowering with temps around 60F to 70 during the day and 40F and sometimes lower at night. The tips of the caylx's have just started Turing purple during this last week but not wide spread mostly the flowers at the top of the branches so far

Not every strain/pheno will turn purple even with the cold temps. At one point in time the plant was grown natively where the temps drop dramatically over the last few weeks of flowering which gave it its purple hue. This code is deep in the genes and ken has kept it active by selective breeding and dropping the temps in those last few weeks.

Ive even heard that plants know what season it is whether they're indoor or outdoor and that can supposedly effect things like color or pollination % or yield.
