Since I already have my hps setup I am considering dropping the 15-20$ on a mh bulb and moving my plants under that. I have read really good things. Your plants look good. You should be topping soon yeah?

I am going to top all of mine slightly above my first set of 5 leaves. From what I have read that is the second true node. If done correctly by Uncle Ben's topping technique i should;d end up with 4 main colas on each plant.
If you top them once you will end up with two main cola's. top them twice to get four. I will not try topping again as Fimming has better results and does not slow down the growing process. also if you fim once you will get four tops.

FIM is just trimming other sections correct? not the top but others surrounding the top?
Topping is the removal of the entire top, Fimming is only taking the tip of the top.

Some find no difference in topping of fimming but with fimming you do it once and no slow down.

idk it seems like u need more experience in FIMing then to top. Just cut the top off. lol but thats only my opinion

No it's really simple just don't take out as much as you did to top. I just cut the top of like I was mowing grass but deep enough to cause the top to split. If you fail you can keep trying. But ya it is way simpler if your inexperienced to just cut the top out.
Good luck with your guy's grows.

@label,
I am a noob but when I read uncle bens it said grow to 5 to 6 nodes, cute just above 2nd actual node to get 4 tops.
I would say that the center cutting makes a perfect Clone.

If you read uncle ben's topping guide. he says that you will end up with 4 main colas if topped at the second true node. Which I have now done on all of my plants. If I for some reason only end up with 2 no biggie I will be doing a little lst here and there I'm sure.

Thats like a 5 year old guide. and what he is referring to is called several things, pinching and fimming is what it is called today. If you cut just before you see the node you will always end up with 4 tops but cut under the first node and you will only end up with 2 tops. I prefer fim'd plants over topped because of the staggered heights of the cola's when topped at least when fim'd they are usually all the same height and no extra veg time.

Looking good!
I picked up some of the Lemon Kush as well. It'll be nice to watch how you guys do. I was thinking about a bit of a 12/12 grow with them. Fast and easy.

Keep it up with the pics!! :weed:
