So you don't vent your light? The one I'm looking at...will I be able to vent that? I really need to vent my light...

I have a single Air Cooled hood. and 2 "Gull wing" reflectors. :) You get more light penetration with the Gull than anything else. Just more heat to deal with as well...

Ok...so I have a light being shipped today :) Sometimes it pays to be hesitant...dimmable 400 watt cool tube with reflector and digital ballast...made by lumatek. Used for 1 grow and my friend upgraded to a bigger tent...with a bigger light!!
NOW...gotta get an exhaust fan...window unit...and I'm back to thinking about converting a large armoire or cabinet...

I have a room that I don't use for ANYTHING...I could put cabinet directly in front of window run exhaust from the back and NOBODY would ever know...at least in theory...:) AND...I could have that half of my closet back!! (Or most likely continue to use it for veg)

Sweet deal on the new light! What's next? Melissa buy's a 25 site DWC setup??? LOL! Let me look into your future..... I see the 400 being a veg light and a upgrade for flower.... Yes, your future is looking bright!!!

When I started out I had a 2 bulb flouro unit in a 3x3 area hidden in the loft of my garage. Now I am in a 8x12 room divided in two (the entire loft) with soon to be two 600 ballast's and four 4 foot florescent (veg), 6 fans, Desktop PC, sink with running water BLA BLA BLA....... My wife was trying to talk me into a 1000 watt this time around but two 600's will cover better.

YES...I have a room that I don't use. It's larger than my bedroom actually...BUT...I went into the closet for discretion!! First of all, I have a young child, I LIKE to entertain and last but NOT least...it's NOT legal where I live :) I SHOULD be using this space shouldn't I? It's basically a sitting room off my dining room and separated by interior type French doors...

My brain is hurting again...

I understand the hurdles that you have. My daughter is now old enough to understand sorta (13 yo). She has been educated on my reasons for growing (medical/Parkinsons). It is also not in the house so guest's have no idea (other than the family of skunks in the hood)

Your Idea for a cabinet/closet/tent is best.

Well...I have adult children that are doing their own thing but my 3 1/2 year old is ALL UP IN MY BUSINESS!! Hahaha!! And it's AWKWARD when you open the door for your friend and she blurts out "HOLY SHIT!! It's like pure SKUNK in here!" Then at my party last weekend she BLURTS out..."How did you get your house to not smell like weed?"...can't take her ANYWHERE!!! LMAO!!
And here it is...I just THINK it and it seems to fall in my lap!!
$50 on craigslist...and right here in town!! My stealth grow cabinet...

My NEW light will be here by the 10th. I peeped a couple pics of the setup my "friend" was going to send me...I decided to save myself the return shipping fees and purchase the new setup instead. It WAS a lumatek light and digital ballast...sitting next to an overflowing ashtray and covered with an inch of dust...the "cool tube" and "reflector" were a JOKE!! Homemade...FIRE HAZARD!! Don't know what the tube came from...but it was VERY small...the "reflector" was a piece of metal ducting unrolled and somewhat flattened out..."cool tube" was attached to "reflector" with COAT HANGERS!! He said "It's a little tricky to float the bulb in the tube but once you found that "happy spot" your good"...thanks but NO THANKS!! I'm trying to do this inexpensively NOT HALF ASSED!!

Who doesn't like new anyway?!?! :)
