I obviously know more about the finance of your country that you do. Want to talk about the .6% increase in interest that was applied to the default of those T-bills? How about you are still paying for that same mistake to this very day? Taking into consideration that this was only 120 million back then and it s still causing debt 34 years later, can you imagine the catastrophic nature of what is going to happen with the deficit today? No. We will never default. The President does have the power to Print, but not "spend." And he has his Oath. And he has Executive Privilege.

So, it the Congress forced the President to act, that will strip Congress of the power. It is 3, co-equal Branches, locked in Combat to protect the Constitution.

Congress will not abdicate this power. But, something has to be done. This is all well defined in Game Theory. It is that sub-class of Chicken where the crash actually happens.

They can't kill the PUB party anymore than it is dead already. The shutdown was and is a joke. They wasted more money putting up barriers, and policing them...So stupid. And remember Obama owns the sequester. His proposal. But, nothing he could do about the shutdown.

Yet, he can pay the foreign debts and keep the T-bills flowing by fiat, I think.

But, the credit default is very real. I don't think it will happen, but even that could be a good thing....cut up the credit card and suck up the waste.

There is PLENTY of money.....just plenty of waste. And who are the BIG SPENDERS. All of them. A default means no more spending... how boring.

Again, you just don't understand American politics. Your theory is totally implausible and never going to happen. There will be no default, not under any circumstances.

The Republicans are scoring huge political points with their base right now, which is what this is all about. The midterm election is approximately a year away now, with lots of seats in the senate up for Republicans to grab. Since Obama won't be on the ballot, Democrats won't turn out to vote in the midterm; Republicans will. With this maneuver, they're intending to not only keep control of the house but also to take control of the senate.

The Republicans are scoring huge political points with their base right now, which is what this is all about. The midterm election is approximately a year away now, with lots of seats in the senate up for Republicans to grab. Since Obama won't be on the ballot, Democrats won't turn out to vote in the midterm; Republicans will. With this maneuver, they're intending to not only keep control of the house but also to take control of the senate.

I do understand, but I also understand strategic decision making.
The theory is not implausible as we know those who are puppeteers don't care about you or I. Power and control
is the end game.

So, in the event one party or the other is willing to allow a disaster to happen, they could come out being the savior to the
people and demonize the other side to gain and retain additional power.

Politics is rarely a shortsighted scenario, the happenings of today are based on deals long past.


You see, you and Doer have different outlooks on the Pubs image. So if there is a base to be further depleted would one
side or the other not take advantage of it to further their agenda?
