good luck on this one because first off, landlords do not have to give advance notice before entering property. if it were an emergency situation in which a leak in your apartment was causing damage in another unit, no advance notice would be needed. in an emergency, no advance warning is needed when you do not own the home in which you live.

second, just because the police didn't show the warrant doesn't mean they didn't have one.

third, cops can, will, and do get warrants on hearsay all the time. it's called a confidential informant, which will be listed right on the warrant. in any case, a landlord with pictures of a tenant's grow up is sufficient evidence to get a warrant.

finally, from your description, it sounds as though the landlord knew exactly where your grow op was. now why might that be? sounds like she had some suspicion or prior knowledge of the operation before she entered the apartment.

sounds to me like you need to pay the $100 fine and take this as a warning. i would move as soon as possible because you're obviously not safe growing there any more. furthermore, next time around i would be a little bit more careful about divulging information about my op if i were you. loose lips sink ships as they say.

drug laws in this country are archaic and are set up fundamentally against violators. it doesn't matter if this protocol or that protocol was or was not violated. regardless of what people think, the justice system can do whatever it wants to whoever it wants, at any time. nobody is safe in america.

K, well in emergencies, yes anyone will come into your house even if you own it. Fires, accidents, etc. But land lords cannot just come into your home whenever they feel like it. I dont know which state you live in, but Im in canada now, orignally born in America(Yes American For All You US Bashers). I lived in the US until I was 16 & still go back and forth till this day. this I do know for fact is a land lord cannot just enter your home without notice. It is possible that in your state they are allowed but in most, NO it isnt.

You wanna know why she knew right where he was growing, becasue she prolly comes into his house and everyone elses on a regular basis. ILLEGALLY taking pictures of his privacy. You show me on any lease from Ohio where this incedent occured that landlords do not have to give notice and can enter your home whenever they want to.

The video shows no emergency situation for her to have to enter. The fact she knew right where to go proves thats not the first time shes been there.

The police must show a search warrant before entering. Unless you are harboring a criminal or else theyre gonna do exactly what I said. All they needed to do with is drunk father is convince him to let them in and its over.

Last, if you really think they get a warrant off of hear say youre nuts especially for a pic of 2 plants, they do not have enough money to keep asking a judge for a damn warrant for every peice of hear say that they get. This is why they sent an officer to the house to investigate. Now if the picture showed a felony grow op, Im sure the judge would have granted one pretty fast. No matter the officer didnt have one nor could have gotten one. It was a simple "let's send an officer to the house to see if he smells somthing". But instead the cop wanted to be a hereo and make a bust.

the justice system can do whatever it wants to whoever it wants, at any time. nobody is safe in america.

A thought from me to you is i live in an apt also and not only do i lock my dead bolt which if the land lady wanted to she could get in BUT......
i have also installed a lock on my door to my "room" that way even if she does come in she cant get in to the goods!

Just a thought and if the police would have came they would have had to shown a warrent to open a locked room or locked anythnig!
